  1. Nice! I can pay $50 to get this "Rare" double live disc of the 360 Tour from U2.com (sacrasm)....... U2360°. 110 shows. 30 countries. 7 million fans. It was the tour that broke all the records and right now on our subscriber site voting has opened to select the tracks that will appear on 'U22', a live double-CD and the ultimate U2360° setlist. Over 26 months the band performed songs from their most recent album No Line On The Horizon all the way back to Boy, their debut, playing at least 22 tracks a night. So what were the stand-out songs? The tracks which defined this tour ? Is there
  2. Actually, they were all in their 40s at this particular point in their career. They were in their 30s from Achtung Baby through Pop. Correction: Larry Mullen didn't hit 40 until October 31st, 2001. I guess they did record that album while they were all in their late 30s {tough to tell since Adam, Bono & Edge were born in March, May & August of 1960 respectively}, but to me I consider them to be early 40s when that came out.
  3. Yeah, that's how I watched it. Tell me what you guys think of it (not now of course). I'm curious if other fans respond the same way that I did.
  4. I bought the song Geraldine by them about 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. I guess you can say that the guitar sound is very similar to The Edge. They also opened for U2. Last night I somehow found myself watching PJ20 and From The Sky Down (which is easily traceable on youtube.). I really felt let down by the U2 doc. It only spent about a 1/3 of the time discussing Achtung Baby and in that time it talked about Sick Puppy (which eventually became Mysterious Ways), then they talked about how One came out of Mysterious Ways' 2nd bridge, then they briefly showed U2 doing Zoo TV then it quickl
  5. (looks around) Did you purposefully leave off In A Future Age because of the Candyfloss/A Shot In The Arm ending on that album?
  6. Quite possibly way better than the AMC series.
  7. The setlist is already posted on the link provided. Kind of ruined the surprise. Oh well. What do you expect from NPR? Tote bags on the brain.
  8. Hey, go easy on Real Rival. There's a slight chance that Jeff did in fact say this, but was kidding around like he does at most shows. Not all of his banter has been recorded in words here on After The Show. Or in other words, I wouldn't place too much focus on Jeff being stoned but rather thinking OK I can picture him saying that he was and then speaking in a British accent.
  9. Did you also get a JustHookup.com popup ad too? Well, I guess my Saturday night is all set now.
  10. Dang it! I thought this was actual jam to go with my Mr. Peanut peanut butter. I guess I'll have to settle for tote bags.
  11. I am trying really hard to figure out where Davis is without looking at Google maps. I can't be the only one who came up blank on this town or city?
  12. I have to disagree here a whole lot. I guess I have to say that I wouldn't mind as much if a lot of the Ryan Adams stuff happened off stage, but that isn't the case. It shows a complete lack of respect for his craft a.k.a. his work to earn himself a living. To not perform with Janis & Neil conveys quite a few things to mind: he doesn't care for their music, he is so disinterested that he has to go on ebay to keep himself from being bored, he doesn't care what they will think of him even though he was hand picked over many other artists, he thinks his music is better, and most importantly h
  13. Seriously, he was invited/hand picked by Neil & Janis and to do that to them is just plain wrong and disrespectful. He has to realize that his behavior will be talked about in the business. Not to mention to act that way with your peers. Who does he think he is? Who does he think will show up to work with him? Well, that's pretty immature if all of this is some act to get people to compare him to Dylan with these incidents. So should I start doing coke and directing films to be compared to Scorese at his best period?
  14. I'm not immediately getting into Ashes & Fire. Anyways, for whatever reason I started going onto the Ryan message boards to look for his unreleased stuff finally and then found my way onto a very recent story about his typical behavior (i thought he was happy? yeah right) doing a show with Neil FInn & Janis Ian. I guess he gave Janis a dirty look when she tried to sing (and/or play along with) one of his songs when they all sat together towards the end of the show. Then he refused to sing with Neil & Janis, in fact he was on his phone bidding on t-shirts on ebay. And he packed up
  15. http://www.spin.com/...bluesy-u2-cover Pretty intense cover of Love Is Blindness. Very White Stripes-esque while retaining some of the original's flavor, especially Bono's vocals.
  16. A host of famous names, including The Killers, Jack White, Nine Inch Nails, Snow Patrol, Patti Smith and Depeche Mode, have re-created U2’s Achtung Baby album in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The collection of brand new recordings, 'AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered', also marks the 25th anniversary of Q Magazine, and Q Editor in Chief Paul Rees said he believes the album sets a new - and higher - benchmark for the growing popularity of free CD's. 'Not only in the sense that each of the tracks are brand new recordings by some of the biggest and most iconic names in music such as Jack White, N
  17. Well, the 4 of them living together (for a few days) feel way too comfortable. They could mine a lot of comedic territory in the 1st couple of episodes dealing with that. Plus, the 3 guys feel subservient to Zooey's character (hence my comment about the whole show being a vanity piece and not a terrific ensemble like all of the best comedies right now). The way how they all stood up to her ex-boyfriend by putting on funny hats seemed entirely horrible and totally unbelievable since they barely know her.
  18. Seriously?! I think it's the worst new sitcom. Quick side note: I do plan on making a new 2011-2012 Fall TV Thread to discuss new shows and returning ones very soon. Anyways, the main problem that I had with the pilot was that there was 0 conflict. OK. They could have dragged out her wanting to move in with 3 guys to a couple of episode arcs. Hell, it felt like for 2 seconds the guys put up a fight and then next thing you know she is living with them and it felt like episode 4 all of a sudden. Plus, she's surrounded herself with a poor supporting cast and pretty bad writers, in my opinion.
  19. Was about to post this over Labor Day Weekend, but then that stream happened. Anyways, I'm really excited at the prospect of Depp playing Hunter S. Thompson in the 1950s . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YUx36yLLug
  20. Where would you recommend building the Butt Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame?
  21. I usually sing "His goal in life was to be Mr. Eko." And my recent favorite to sing to myself in the car is "Oh I can only dream of the dreams we'd share if you were Nels Cline."
  22. It's hard to believe that almost 10 years ago that Sandra Bullock vehicle Murder By Numbers gave us both Michael Pitt AND Ryan Gosling.
  23. Agreed. And I feel like we keep agreeing on this in various threads. And I'll say it again, some of the songs on Sky Blue Sky are better than anything off of A.M. or Wilco The Album, but that doesn't make me rank it higher. Sky Blue Sky to me always suffered from having a few too many songs (ballads) created with the same ingredients, but different creations (horrible analogy. I had a better one last time, I swear.). I love plucking out Sky Blue Sky or Either Way to make it into a playlist, but within the context of the album it seems to create a feeling of sleepiness (or I'm reminded of what
