  1. It all depends on what time it says on the ticket. I know that for my show in Boston the ticket said 8pm and Nick Lowe came on around 8:10 through 8:50. Then Wilco came on at 9:10 through 10:55. And the shows in NYC Wilco came on at 7 to try to get a set in before torrential downpours.
  2. I agree with both of these statements. Sadly, it technically isn't a b-side. Oh, and I love the longer version of this song. The backing vocals are amazing. EDIT: I should clarify the previous statement. The short version cuts off about 30 seconds of the harmonies. I didn't want people to think I was implying that only the long version had backing vocals.
  3. ^ In the liner notes it says that Glenn did the Field Recordings, but obviously a location wasn't given. Glenn also plays a siren on Dawned On Me which I knew I heard but thought that it was Mikael.
  4. Interesting behind the scenes call sheet for Colbert Report which pretty much doubles as a setlist for Radiohead. http://www.zimbio.com/Thom+Yorke/articles/31TU_iy5N3Q/Radiohead+Live+Colbert+Report+Setlist
  5. A technical question for iTunes: OK. I bought the Deluxe version (physical cd) last night at midnight and figured I'd buy/find Sometimes It Happens. Well, iTunes is being awful to me and keeps booting me off every time I try to purchase it saying "Your session Has Timed Out". It apparently doesn't have my credit card info and I somehow have .15 in a Gift Card balance. That's impossible as I just bought something a few weeks ago. I tried all of the help forums and the main thing that they told folks to do was to reset your time zone (REALLY?! there has to be more to it than that). Well, that di
  6. Good news for folks in London, L.A. & NYC. I'll wait for the DVD or download the show from that link above....LOL. Is this one final push to get into the R & R HOF this year? THE CURE “REFLECTIONS” - SEVEN FINAL PERFORMANCES Featuring THREE IMAGINARY BOYS (1979), SEVENTEEN SECONDS (1980) and FAITH (1981) played in their entirety. Due to overwhelming demand The Cure “REFLECTIONS” show - first experienced in the spring of 2011 at the Vivid Festival in Sydney - will be performed seven more times in November 2011. "REFLECTIONS" sees an evolving line up of band members past and pres
  7. Well, it wasn't technically a listening party at the Bull Moose Records in Salem, NH a couple of hours ago. I think they were playing the new Blink 182 (God, I never thought I'd say that again...bleh). Anyways, out of the 15 or so people in line 2 of us were picking up The Whole Love. The extremely nice record store clerk told us that we were going to have to fight it out over the 2 giveaway items. He brought us the I Might Solid Sound vinyl single and a poster tube. The guy in front of me grabbed the vinyl without asking me and I quickly told him that I was happy that he grabbed that because
  8. Strange, bizarre news coming out of Chicago's South Side. It appears that Ozzie Guillen has managed his last game with the White Sox tonight with 2 games left in the season to start managing the Marlins next season where Jack McKeon retired from earlier today. Guillen's comments: “F--- more years. I want more money,’’ Guillen said. “I don’t work here for years. No, I want more money. Years, what, I’m going to die poor with the White Sox? Hell, no. Listen this is my job. It’s the only thing I can do. I have to make money out of somewhere. I’m not a doctor or a lawyer, where you’ll have a job
  9. I was thinking of The Thanks I Get on Late Night With Conan O'Brien live in Chicago in spring 2006.
  10. *I'm sure most of you saw this on Wilco's FB page today. Anyways, hopefully your state or city is listed. I'm shocked by how many stores in Maine have this tonight, but Bull Moose is an awesome indie store. I'll be going to the one in Salem, NH tonight anyways. Now this makes me more excited. They know that I'm a huge Wilco fan, so if it's not a big turnout I may get more goodies than normal. In anticipation of the September 27th release of their powerful new album The Whole Love, celebrated Chicago rock ‘n’ roll band Wilco have organized a series of listening parties at independent record s
  11. ^ I agree. I almost posted an extremely lengthy review of it on here, but I held back because the film is such a personal experience. I'm guessing more people will post about this when it comes out on DVD. It's probably my favorite film of the year (even though I had the unfortunate luck of having two old chatty cathys sitting behind me making ignorant comments like "I didn't realize that this was a documentary", "This director must do a lot of drugs" "I sat here for 2.5 hours and I don't know what I just watched" Really?! You can't elaborate on anything that you just saw to come up with some
  12. I pondered that awhile back, since they had this past Saturday off after being in NYC Thursday and Friday. But Radiohead "snuck in" and took that date. I'd say it's a great possibility.
  13. I have this deep feeling inside me that if and when R.E.M. tours again they will open up for or rather share a double bill with U2. I know they camethisclose in 1997 in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. They can obviously tour again and have nobody open for them, but I feel like they come off as close enough friends that maybe now the time is kind of right.
  14. I've heard that PBS is going to show it either next month or November. OK. Friday October 21st. http://www.twofeetthick.com/2011/05/pj20-film-to-air-on-pbs/
  15. That's a cool story. Although, I would have asked when/if they plan on coming back to Boston & NYC next year. Edit: I'm worried that they'll skip Boston because they'll be doing Solid Sound 3.
  16. No problem. It's kind of cool cleaning my room and making a playlist to go along with tonight's setlist. I guess I'm still in withdrawal. Completely loving the setlist tonight. Poor Places into Bull Black Nova must have been amazing. Also, that's the 1st time in awhile that Heavy Metal Drummer made an appearance.

  18. Thanks to JAK2112's Twitter feed we can now know that they opened the set with One Sunday Morning at about 7:02p.m. The picture on his other tweet doesn't show too much rain coming down. EDIT: The Yankees/Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium has been postponed, so it must still be raining pretty good in that general area. So much for watching the game and taking tweet breaks. Edit: Maybe I'll just use this space to post the setlist in real time from his tweets, instead of adding 20 plus posts on here. So..... One Sunday Morning (Song For Jane Smiley's Boyfriend) Art Of Almost I Might Poor Places
  19. U2 Outside Broadcast This link should work. I tried to use sendspace, but the homepage and options looked different.
  20. ^ I think that portion of the Letterman show has already been taped. In fact, if you looked closely enough you could tell that his desk was pushed way off to the back. They probably did a song and he came over and shook their hands then the crowd left and they let new people in to watch the hour long performance. Or it was the same group of people. There's no consistency to tv tapings that I've attended. But I'm sure that they did one song twice.
  21. RE: Wilco covering R.E.M. - I think the perfect song for them to do would be Country Feedback which I think members of Wilco appeared on in a certain cd single which I can't recall. It was recorded in 2003 when they opened for them. EDIT: Actually, the recording may not be the same show that they came out to perform with them.
  22. Yep. I think we discussed it around this same time last year in the previous Now Watching thread. Then you brought up Valhalla Rising after I talked about seeing Bronson. Still haven't sat down to watch that. I'm curious how I will react to it after seeing Drive first. You should definitely go see Drive.
  23. Yes. According to BT Solid Sound Night 2 is up there only. Surprised Night 1 isn't listed. Here's Night 1 & Night 2 on the Visible Sound blog. Edited to reflect A-Man's point below: So these 2 shows are available in mp3 format ONLY on this site, but you can download the tracks individually.
  24. (meant to post this Sat night) -I really haven't seen a film in awhile that I knew would hold a special place in my memories (and heart) for being amazing. It holds you in its grip with its perfect direction, terrific sound design, top notch performances and shocks and twists. Certain scenes, shots and sounds (most notably the amazing soundtrack which evokes the 80s New Wave) are forever etched in my memory. It should be kind of noted that this isn't like a certain franchise with Vin Diesel. This film mixes together American & European cinematic sensibilities. Hell, even the font on the p
