The Whole Love: Speculation and (eventual) reactions
u2roolz replied to Al.Ducts's topic in Just A Fan
Listening party on......September 26th! In Saco, Maine with Bob Ludwig. http://www.bullmoose...r=258&nocache=1 Bull Moose Records is a great indie record store in Maine and New Hampshire. Edit: I replied that Wilco may "leak" the album on their own website like the last couple and Bull Moose responded rather quickly with this "@kristofor, that seems very likely. We are temped to caution fans against listening online. The six tracks we have already heard contain a lot of detail that won't really come through your computer speakers. If you really love Wilco (and don't win this contest) -
Mmmm. Sounds like a tasty track.

From Wilco's Facebook status update today: Standby. We'll announce the 2nd leg of the "Whole Love" North American tour this Friday. Edit: I'm actually genuinely happy that they're adding some shows so that those of you that don't have Wilco coming in the following month will get to see them.

First off, Steven Soderbergh directed it, so you can drop the B movie ideas (sarcastic). Secondly, it is cool to see places you know in/on film(s). It happened to me twice in the past couple of years for The Fighter & The Invention Of Lying (both Lowell, MA) along with all of the recent Boston movies. It does look great though. Not too much coming out in September that looks decent (keep an eye out for Warrior, & for wide release films). Although, that scene where Matt Damon starts screaming "What happened?!?!! Where is she?!?!" is definitely grating and confusing and is so going

That was the closest that I've ever been to a snake. I've never visited a lawyer either. And how often do people get charged with killing endangered snakes? There has to be some sort of "self-defense" loophole. Yes, that guy's hair is beyond amazing.

One way I played the album and wound up liking the sequencing better was swapping Deeper Down with I'll Fight. (cue typical VC remark about not swapping any songs from other albums into the mix.) I enjoy this album a bit more than Sky Blue Sky. I don't need to rock with my c out, but to me Sky Blue Sky (sorry, every time I see SBS I think of Sunday Bloody Sunday) seems to have too many songs of the same flavor, but cooked with different ingredients. I love Either Way, Sky Blue Sky, Please Be Patient With Me, What Light and On & On & On, but to hear them all on one album seems like to

I say we set off stink bombs whenever assholes speak at a Wilco show! I'd much rather have rotten eggs climbing into my nostrils, than hear some nincomboob talking about getting some during Radio Cure. Just to clarify: I mean actual assholes. Also, does anyone else have a recurring nightmare where an obscure artist named Al Most sues Wilco and we never get to hear the 1st track?

Your favorite opening ACTS of all-time, ever?
u2roolz replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
This is mostly for the 1st and only time I've paid to see him by himself and not open for one of my favorite bands (R.E.M.). So so so bad. Seriously, I wondered if some big menacing mobster was in the back of the room clenching his brass knuckles looking mean at Pete. He had this scared shit look the whole night and just looked dopey. Bill Belichick speaks with more emotion in post game speeches than this guy had in one live performance. I think I'm going to blow up his cds at some point in defiance. And another thing: I keep forgetting that The Music opened up for him and I missed them due -

u2roolz replied to roadhse ma's topic in Need Tickets?
Not to butt in, but how do you plan on swapping tickets that are practically Will Call only? Did you try calling the Wang and ask them if you could put someone else's name instead of yours for the credit card/ticket info? I only ask because my best friend's brother just moved back into town and loves Wilco (he lived in Chicago for the last 5 or so years). I told him good luck finding a ticket with the Will Call setup. Thanks. -
Hmm. The track listing via Last.FM showed Born Alone as being 2:35 which is what I was talking about yesterday, but didn't want to bring it up and have another 5 pages a la the One Wing discussion (album vs. Work In Progress version). Interesting. I thought maybe they decided to hit the fade button before the awesome ending. I'll check and see if the other times match up with Last.FM. I seem to recall that Standing O was surprisingly listed as 4:00 which seemed too long compared to the Solid Sound live version.

I looked up the few listeners on Last.fm and noticed within the comments section that a few journalists shared it with their friends. Not a big deal, but a bit ballsy if Wilco's team checks up on it.

The only pertinent info is via that Last.FM link from Kalle. If you dig deep enough, you can get tracklistings with running time (oh my - in southern belle accent with sarcasm). It looks like the "leak" was in fact made to music journalists, but interestingly enough it was done 2 weeks ago (august 11). Eh, I can't find the spoiler tag on here anymore, so I'll keep the last observation to myself. Hint: it has to do with the running time of one of the songs.

Don't get your hopes up by looking at the link below. It's the only thing I found while searching. It looks like it is a dead link with 0 seeders & 0 leechers. I tried to download it as a zip file and it asked me to sign up for something. I then tried to torrent it and it had the obvious 0 seeders. {link removed by u2roolz. for real. Your move now, dbpm} It's also entirely possible that the people over at Sound Opinion have seen the above link and think that it is real. Anyone have a screen name over there to check on the uploader? Or is that too Patriot Act-y?

Pearl Jam on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on September 8th (along with Cameron Crowe) & September 9th.

Same here. I find the language very interesting: a stream. Is a stream of a yet to be released album tougher to find on the net than a download link? I suppose both can be sent to friends in a private manner. Perhaps the people who have heard the stream can't capture it to make it into an mp3 file for the rest of us?

File this under "You may have missed it, unless if you read through every post/response on Wilco's FB page": Wilco: definitely. We'll have some new dates to announce in the next week or two... This was taken from Friday the 19th in response to someone's question about playing Minnesota.

Well, another summer almost in the books and Debbie Harry still hasn't found me or got me yet.
