  1. Is it bad that I can't tell the difference between man-boobs and real boobs? Some of these are really questionable.
  2. How do I put this? To me all of the new material feels like it came from the same batch a la making Toll House cookies. It is really tough to distinguish between the new tracks except for Born Alone and I Might. Now when I listened to WIlco (The Album) the first time I could tell apart each track upon a few listens. There's something very similar about these tracks. Maybe it's the keyboards/organ sound? I don't know, but I'm still sticking to my Summerteeth meets Sky Blue Sky/Wilco (The Album) sound. AND this doesn't mean that I don't like the tracks. I enjoy them, but need to get to kno
  3. It was just announced that it is Dropkick Murphys and Mighty Bosstones. Don't have it in me to add some more Mightys. I'm kind of happy that it isn't Pearl Jam. I saw The Police there and sat at the 1st base line and had an ok time. I spent most of the time watching the screens and felt far away. It was interesting though because Pearl Jam did in fact have those 3 days off during their tour in September.
  4. Black Moon - the spectral ballad = according to that Spin article or was it Rolling Stone? Who knows!? They all plagiarize from each other all the time. LOL
  5. Fantastic! I think the 2nd song may have been Black Sun, but don't hold me to it. And is it possible that the other new song was Dawned On Me? Overall, a real toss up as to which show was better. And really who cares about that anyways?! We were treated to what I expected: two back to back nights with little repeats. If I had more energy tonight and it never rained last night, tonight would have been the leader of the pack. Setlist over 2 nights was very well selected. Thanks Jeff! Back to new songs: I can't really recall much about the new songs. I know that I heard Jeff sing about th

  7. Look for someone that can start a riot in an empty room....
  8. Be thankful that your son doesn't fart on cakes.
  9. We can laugh about VC and how it's been over the years, but lest we forget that there's people out there without jobs. Like take a look at John C. Reilly: He's currently homeless and he somehow has a notepad. I don't know for what though. Maybe he's a meter maid in Chicago and can't afford a nice place. Just trying to put things into perspective.
  10. This is actually the first image that comes up with that google search above..... LOL And there's a pic of Robert Stack too.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b30CLSFaEz0 The lil tv jingle really could be the theme song for VC. Let's sing it together folks!!!!
  12. Is he touring with the same crickets that he had in 04?
  13. I was referring to On Fillmore who will perform Saturday at 3p.m. with Darin Gray on the 2nd floor of the Lewitt building (or wing). It is listed on Page 6 under the Installations, specifically inGLENNtions. You can kind of easily miss it.
  14. Well, I stumbled upon the Installation explanations and was stunned, happy and befuddled to read this: Solid Sound: The IMPOSSIBLE Exhibition = Watch a documented collage of the festival grow throughout the weekend. Now I'm not obviously going to take full credit for an idea like this, since in the age of festivals and social media this seems like a no brainer. BUT this is pretty cool! Solid Sound 2011 Flip Schedule w/New Info *(this is in the "official" thread and you should really check it out. Lots of new stuff in there. A certain side project that was notably missing has a set time n
  15. I was going to ask a stupid question, but was there a schedule/map handed out last year for concertgoers? Then I went on the Solid Sound website and noticed that they added a flip book of what might be handed out this year. It goes in depth on the exhibits and short film titles are listed, but the print is very small. Edit: There's also some special acoustic shows being held in the galleries. Also, a very famous rap trio from NYC will have their star studded music video shown. Flip Book I also made my own schedule awhile ago in my pocket planner. Congrats to me.
  16. Thanks. Nice and interesting. I'm more of a searcher too. I'm never going to sign up for "Alerts" via Google. I don't need 50 Alerts for the same Spin/Rolling Stone article copied word for word on 50 other websites.
  17. Just got back from directing an interview show with Senator Rick Santorum in Londonderry, NH (home of Giants' Brian Wilson). I never met the woman who interviewed him, but she's a real right wing blogger out of the state. The whole thing was pretty much a puff piece with no questions about Bin Laden and Republicans trying to put their hands into funding for Public Television. Everything was asked to get a response to take a crap on Obama. Although, with the other 6 Republican candidates in the state he seems to be the only one to have sat down with her.
  18. This is not the Lithgow vs. Rudd thread that I was looking for.
  19. Question for Rain Dog Too: Are you someone who checks out Wilco things a lot because you found the single's image and these videos? Did you check Zoran's page regularly for updates because he did do some video(s) on Wilco over the past year? Or was his page private before? I do find it interesting that his response was that he is "following orders". Viral marketing isn't anything new. These videos were found the same day as the "Wilco in Maine mastering new record" tweet. I still think that this footage will be a part of the Fly On The Wall installation.
  20. from Wilco's Facebook status update just given around 5 pm: Wilco is in Maine mastering the new record....for now we're saying "early Autumn" for a release date....album name TBA soonish...
  21. I almost got to posting this before Diane's response above. My .02 cents: I consider myself in the boat of not wanting to meetup after just having driven 3 hours and trying to find my hotel and then getting ready for Wilco. Maybe this is why not that many people have clicked "yes". Now, if The Autumn Defense were headlining Friday I'd be more open to meeting people in the designated time. I don't know. There's just something about driving 3 hours and having that nice cushy buffer to sit in my hotel room and relax to rest up for Wilco. In my mind, I have the next 2 days to check out the pl
  22. Pretty sure that's Art Of Almost that the band is working on with Nels shredding. At least it fits the Spin description very well. No idea what the song is on Loft 2. Great find. These have been sitting around the net for 2 months and no one posted this? I wonder if the audio of these files will be used in the Fly On The Wall installation?
