The oddest, most incongruous covers that you can think of

I think Beltmann is controlling my Netflix queue. I put on my Netflix last night after the hockey game and the first film to be recommended to me was this. I had never seen this listed before. Very weird. I'll check it out later on. I've been in a summer film mood. My friend usually picks a year and takes summer films from it, but I will pick and choose for now. Although, I've been sprinkling some "indies" here and there to break things up. I didn't like Sofia Coppola's Somewhere. It felt like a retread of Lost In Translation which was done brilliantly. This film felt too abstract and

I would recommend staying away from the Lacie External Hard Drives. I've had countless problems of the blue l.e.d. lights being on, but not showing up on my desktop and a bunch of exclamation points on my iTunes. In other words, there are a lot of connection problems. I even had to send it out and they "fixed it" and it worked fine for a little bit, but then the issue came up again. They only send you an installation disk, so it gets complicated to try and remember what tests to do to get it online again. It hasn't been showing up for 3 weeks and I'm too defeated to fix it. I'll get around to

See. This is how people might wind up taking pictures of their junk and hoo hahs. Why aren't you watching the Mavs and Heat?

I came across the following press release for the festival while looking for info on the film shorts being presented. I was surprised to find this .PDF file via google search and nowhere on the Solid Sound official site. In it is some nice information about 7 New exhibits and other stuff that may not be known that I will highlight. *(update: OK. The exhibits are listed on the site, but not much info is given unlike in this press release.) Hmm...so it is ok to put a joke up in here about incest, but when you make a joke about a gay man who ingests a bowl of chili and has a gastroenterological reaction to it that reminds him of a sex act with his dead lover, it gets deleted. A lot of the jokes in this thread are dirty and can be offensive to just about anyone. The one above mine had Trump getting a bj. It should be noted that a gay friend of mine told me that joke (like that matters). And the second joke in my post was told to me in front of my cousin whose mother had a colostomy bag from cancer. He laughed. Humor heals in strang

Well, it's all based on principle. While I respect his original way of expressing himself, in a sports world of overused cliches, I don't like the message that he was giving off. We talked about this way before the minor league thing was brought up. It came off as very "well, I may retire because of my injuries, although I might take a contract that looks nice and break down by mid season and who cares. It's the ballclub's risk and not mine." Things like that don't really work in other professions where someone makes a statement about retiring and talking about being old or not being able to d

You don't remember the Bonderman talk last summer that spanned 4 pages or so? LOL I'm glad that he's sitting out (possibly retired for good) after saying something along the lines of "well, I'd like to retire due to injuries, but if I can get a contract that I like then I'll come back" I'd rather see the Tigers let one of their minor leaguers get the call up and start games, instead of someone who has a past history of breaking down. We've been over this before. Edit: All of this occurred to me after the Red Sox played them over the weekend. I thought that he might have been in the pen,

Enough with the Buster Posey story. Let's all sit and bask in the glow that is the current situation that is Jeremy Bonderman: he's still a free agent.

Listening to a webcast is one way to get a setlist before Bbop (Paul a.k.a. Setlistguy) posts it.

This has been really fantastic so far. I think it's a good mix of the pristine audio and the band because everything sounds very fresh especially Kamera.

Not to sound snarky, but did you press play on the little box that should show the name WIlco in it? I had to do this to get the stream. KEXP Link not NPR Works

No. If that persons point of reference for a political activist rock star is Bono then they shouldn't be trusted because that type of thing has only been around since the 80s...obviously Very unoriginal theory by whoever that was. I understand why people get upset when musicians make political commentary during a live setting, but to completely give up on them is infantile. I never understood the "shouldn't be discussing politics, they should only be rocking and asking me to put my hands up and/or lighters out". So artists, actors and musicians should just shut the fuck up when it comes to

I can see problems with people listed from Lady Antebellum to Josh Groban, but Elvis, Elton, CSN, James Taylor, Norah Jones and Sheryl Crow (sometimes) are pretty respectable to me. Who would you have had instead, if you had a time machine?

This actually was already recorded from January 2010 where Wilco did Broken Arrow.

Saturday, 5/28 at 9pm EST Musicians pay tribute and honor Neil Young as the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year by covering some of his biggest hits. Features performances by Elton John, Elvis Costello, Crosby Stills and Nash, James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Lady Antebellum, Dave Matthews, Ben Harper, Keith Urban, Josh Groban and more. *I'm assuming they will show Wilco. I haven't checked to see how long this broadcast will run.
