Oh you are not. Are you? Photos please.

So "Octopi" is the thing with the flaky bottom crust and the lattice top crust?
-
Neil continues to move and amaze me after all these years. Happy birthday, Neil, and thanks for so much.

Oh God, that was a fabulous story! I laughed out loud. I really need to learn to knit. Kate, I swear your efforts won't have been in vain.
-
I think the original octopus-knitter (who poppydawn got it from) should knit the uterus too, then put the octopus in the uterus, and really confuse her profs by pulling the octopus out at random moments during class. What can I say, classes used to be a lot more fun when I was in them.

Just being silly, stooka.

Well I didn't mean to really ignore me. Anthony, I've gotta tell you, unless you just stumble across a real find in some little record shop, I don't think you are likely to find any Wilco vinyl in the $10 range.

I think what would have really made it worth a lot of money would be if it had been autographed by the future band members. I mean, how spooky would that have been?! You all should probably just ignore me....

I'm sitting here with the last sliver of the dark-chocolate-with-lavender bar dissolving slowly on my tongue. I had to hide it from myself in the freezer to not just inhale it all in one sitting. How to describe? It's subtle, but definitely infused with the lavender fragrance. It tastes elegant, like eating perfume. Ok, well, here we see why I will never earn my liviing as a food critic. But suffice it to say, it's delicious stuff, and the dark chocolate is as smooth as satin. The dark chocolate with Brazilian pink peppercorns has the same satin smooth dark chocolate, but with an edge. Agai

Tualla, I listened, I liked! These songs have great atmosphere to them!

Now I want a serger. Not that I have anywhere to put it.
-
I would like more chocolate please.
-
Damn, Grace is a beautiful child, and her mama is sew talented! Am I the only person who really doesn't have too clear of an idea what a serger is? And is also too lazy to look it up?

So true, Drew. And she lives in each of us as well, because she affected our lives with her own.

Yeah, now he eats pretty much anything that isn't nailed down. Inhales is maybe a better word. I'm sure you'll get to meet Tom one day, as well as Alissa, 11-going-on-19. One of my biggest regrets right now is that I was always sure I had plenty of time to meet Natalie. I knew her anyway, but I'd have liked to meet in "real life".

Deepseacatfish - The Birthday Extravaganza!
kidsmoke replied to mountain bed's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! It was great meeting you in Davenport, even if the show did sort of take a downhill slant after our meeting....due to the vast quantity of available beer, of course, not to any misstep on our Wilcos' part. Eat, drink and be merry! Here, just for you, a catfish cake!!! (What, do I look like someone who knows one fish from another?) -
Hope it was an explodo kind of day, Dan, perhaps with some sort of grand misadventure clamboring around on a rooftop, some excellent beer, and of course plenty of cake. Explodo cake. Have a great day and a great year!

Yes, yes, yes to every sentiment you've expressed, Bridget. As tragic as this is, the silver lining is the way it has pulled us together, and made us realize how much we love and value each other. Thank you Natalie, you keep giving us gifts even now.

What a spirit lifter!

It's all so beautiful and perfect that I'm dissolved in tears again. Thank you, ladies, you staged a beautiful ceremony. The shot of the river is poignant & lovely. This is the poem I wrote for Nat. Sweet Natalie when we first met you drew me in with your laughter and wit our friendship deepened as you shared of yourself, with tinfoil gods come to live on my shelf In every post whatever you

Brilliant. I just broke down (finally) and bought myself a copy of "The World was Hell to Us" from their myspace site. I cracked up when I read through the receipt, at the contact email: chrisrulesbigtime@sympatico.ca Indeed he does.

Much love to you and Robin for your memorial tonight, Kate. It looks beautiful and heartfelt. I thought of you, and Natalie, often today. My heart is still breaking. Is she really gone? Hard to absorb, even after days. I miss her.

No...not that far south, but I'll be damned if I can remember exactly where this was. We had spent the day at the Aquarium of the Pacific, in Long Beach. We'd meant to go to the aquarium until 2 or 3, then go to a nearby beach for the rest of the day, but we were so fascinated by the aquarium that we couldn't bring ourselves to leave until nearly closing time. Then we still wanted to see some beach, so we shot southward looking for something inviting, and just pulled off wherever this was. Seems like it was slightly south of Huntington. It was absolutely freezing so we only stayed long enough

Oh, duh!....I clearly wasn't paying close attention. Glad Jerod is ok! You raise a good point, and a scary one....we all act as though places of refuge, like hospitals, are somehow immune from the capricious behavior of the weather, but of course they aren't. I'm still glad Dreamin' Judy is ok.
