  1. I'm pulling out the Scott McCaughey / Minus 5 classic, "Dear December" with hits like "St. Nick's a Dick" and "Yuletide Me Over". Whattya got for the season?
  2. I have been craving biscotti ever since I saw this photo.
  3. I feel perennially late every Christmas, but hey, cards are sent, packages are mailed, lots of presents are bought & wrapped & the outdoor lights are finally up! Today was cookies, using a cool set of cookie molds and a lot of green and red dye! Now to get a Christmas tree. I hear they are exorbitantly expensive this year, but then, isn't everything? How's your holiday, VC?
  4. I'm a big Waxahatchee fan, too. Katie Crutchfield has a one-of-a-kind voice! What do you think of her work with Jess Williamson in Plains? I love the contrasts between their voices. Interesting factoids on that album, "I Walked with You a Ways", are that Spencer Tweedy was the drummer, and also track 7, "Last 2 on Earth" was co-written by Katie and her longtime partner, Kevin Morby. I like the character that brings to the song, in my mind. I'm appreciating these favorites. I need to explore several people!
  5. If anyone has a spare ticket for the 6th or the 8th, I have a friend who's interested. EDIT: My friend has decided she can't make it after all.
  6. ...anybody? I'm all set but a friend is desperate. I'd be eternally grateful! Well maybe not eternally, but for a long while. Let me know, thanks.
  7. I've recently discovered Tré Burt after meeting him after a show in November, and lately he's all I want to listen to. He was signed to John Prine's label in early 2020, and I can see why Prine was so impressed with him. The song currently stuck in my head on endless repeat is "Know Your Demons", but the rest of his output is just as good. Love his lyrics!
  8. I'll be taking notes from all the choices people come up with! Great topic idea.
  9. Ah, that voice! She leaves behind such a soaring, lilting legacy as a singer and songwriter. This one takes a chunk out of me, for sure. I'm glad she passed peacefully with family.
  10. What would Wilco be, without its stalwart bass player? It wouldn't be Wilco. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of rock's sweetest massive talents! We love you, John!
  11. I'm so very grateful for the music and the friendships that brought me here and kept me here, all these years. You're a great bunch of people to share life with. I like "coming home, Via Chicago". Thanks to all of you, for all you bring to this great human mashup. Have a glorious feast and appreciate the people you are lucky enough to feast with!
  12. Oh, damn! Not Wilko! I guess today will be a day to pull out all my Dr. Feelgood albums and blast them in his memory. Thank you Wilko, you were a treasure.
  13. On sale NOW for January 5, 6, 7 & 8 at Largo!!! See you there!
  14. Is it a one-off show, or are they touring, do you know?
  15. Too bad this didn't stay as intriguing as that first season. It sounded compelling!
  16. I haven't had the chance yet to see them live, but the reports of their live shows have always sounded so fun!
  17. This election night is bringing all of the joy and terror of 2016. I feel sick but I want to check the news. How are you faring in your location? It's 11:20 PST on election day, and it seems to be a very mixed bag. At least Fetterman appears to be winning. Please, can we get some humanity back into politics, rather than pure thuggery?
  18. We are living in insane times, and we all know it. I have voted my conscience and I hope the rest of you have too, by now. Wilco fans tend to be socially & politically involved so you've likely voted by now if your state allows it. How are we all handling the existential dread of this election? I'm pretty sure it's not just me. These are such dangerous times. But like Beto said, "We've got to try". The world is turning fascist and monopolistic around us and it feels overwhelming but...we've GOT to try to resist. Fascism is not what our founding fathers were after. In fact, these were
