  1. funny to think that jeff and farrar probably stand a far better chance of ever sharing a stage again then jeff and ken.
  2. and i just noticed that "window in the sky" (which has grown, thanks to its video) to be my favorite u2 song in years) was produced by Rick Rubin. A full-Rick Rubin U2 album would be interesting to say the least.
  3. No the agganis arena is definitely in Boston, not cambridge.
  4. Hey, vaguely on this subject - does anyone know who wrote sandusky? when it came out i'd just assumed it was jay, but when someone requested it at a jeff solo show last year, jeff made like he was going to try it, but then said it wouldn't work without the other guitar and banjo. I always loved that piece. ahhhh.
  5. i loved outter dark... worth noting - the Coen Bro's next movie is an adaptation of No Country for Old men. should be insane.
  6. oops. meant brookline, just a brain fart.
  7. A.) that was just after his stage-dive. B.) he's actually standing sideways perfectly behind jeff. C.) aliens abducted him. D.) cloak of invisiblity baby!
  8. it, and the paradise, are in boston. (just across the street from the brighton town line) but it is across the river to cambridge. the middle east which is in cambridge is no where near the paradise, relatively speaking. To address the actual topic there were posters, but not wilco's - they were rather cheesy blue on white numbers done as promo's by whomever at Boston Univeristy was putting on the show. I love posters and didn't even bother to take one though they were free. you're not missing anything.
  9. Cool...welcome and thanks for tabbing that out. i think, for me, rather than E - D repeated, i play that first chord (where your doing the emajor bar) as a modified G (i use a capo on 5) with capo on 5 the end of the verse riff using that modified g chord looks like this: e5----------------------------------------------------------------------------5---7---5--------| b5--------------5----5-------------------5----5-------------------8--8--5-----------------8--| g5--------------9----9-------7---7------9----9------7----7------5----------------------------| d5--------------x----x-------7--
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JflHVb-gsY a fantastic clip of them doing 'gun' in 92 - amazing energy.
  11. If you are free and looking for music tonight, may i humbly recomend checking out tt's other side of the bear acoustic monday show? a rare performance by the amazing Dan Cray a solo set by Scott Janovitz (of the Great Bandini /and the russians) (oh yeah, and me playing as well.) but i really do recomend it for the other two acts. dan is a drunken genious and seeing scott is always a fun time. 8pm, $3, TT the bear's, all acousticish and fun. pool tables, booze.
  12. ( i do think its rock, not wreck)
  13. Sincere condolences to you and all of your family.
  14. that must be some sort of rule then? glad its not just me.
  15. Sorry to hear this - you are in my thoughts...
  16. must be because you're a never-nude.
  17. i wound up missing everyone. got to town late and just general flakyness on my part coupled with poor cell coverage... wish i'd seen everyone. oh, found yet another clip searching youtube, most of Walken... there were two tapers middle center - saw them get hasselled by house security before the gig but they had their rigs up through the show so must have worked out.
  18. john during the AD set: "everyone be nice to glenn about his facial hair, he needs our support, he's feeling sensitive about it. I dont know why - its cool to look like a policeman from tiajuana." also... the guy who yelled out "Richie Tenenbaum!!!" when jeff put on the headband wasn't too far off... this was in the just a fan thread, but someone already has a video clip of part of 'tonight, lets fight' from the show up on youtube: and the end of the jam on impossible germany:
  19. can't wait to see the pics of this... transistion from laid back hot afternoon to stary stary night in the firefly speckled wooded setting to the sounds of AD and wilco was amazing... by far the loosest/goofiest i've ever seen them at a wilco show, liked the new songs far better live than the first impression from mp3s, agree with what someone said last week about there's a light becoming a light hearted fun singalong live before long... lets fight is good, some odd casio-ish synth sounds in there during the verses but its definitely a good low key tune... random funny things - "what happ
  20. (disclosure = another former Cracker fanboy here) I like it a lot - its no brand, kerosene or golden, but it might be up there above gentlemen's blues and certainly countrysides... i guess because its so close on the heels of Palmhenge, its sadly lacking in johnny vocals or songwriting, but he shines on the guitar anyhow. If you like cracker at all you won't be upset to own this... also - they are on their first major tour as cracker alone (no camper or strange half show configurations) in years this month - check em out.
  21. i may have read it wrong but i didn't take it to say that junior is playing with bob - its pretty clear that jimmy's doing his own set, i'd say junior is too. changes to his band are pretty big news in their own right in dylan world and denny and donnie were still in as of last nights show... plus with the 10 AM!! weekday start times i'd say its a multi-opener sort of day. however - agreed... seeing junior rip into whatever songs junior rips into before bob will still be quite the sight!
