  1. Uncle Tupelo's facebook page just posted a photo of the seven inch set for record store day. On the sticker it says "New 2 CD No Depression coming May 2012." Anyone know anything about this?
  2. does anyone know what the version of Neil Young's "Do I Have to Come Right Out And Say It" is that plays at the end of the facebook show?
  3. Every strip seemed to either be: Billy taking the long-cut home, Grandpa looking down from heaven, or the kids saying something cute. That was about it.
  4. I would say The Replacements were a big influence on AM
  5. I wonder if the demo version of I Might will feature the grunting pre-lyrics vocals.
  6. It comes in so loud and good after Capitol City. It gets a lot of comparisons to I'm a Wheel, but I think it's more pop than that. Especially with that organ that reminds me of "96 Tears." I don't consider it a throwaway either...I actually like the lyrics.
  7. 1. Art Of Almost - 9/10 2. I Might - 10/10 3. Sunloathe - 10/10 4. Dawned On Me - 8/10 5. Black Moon - 7/10 6. Born Alone - 7/10 7. Open Mind - 5/10 8. Capitol City - 6/10 9. Standing O - 8/10 10. Rising Red Lung - 10/10 11. Whole Love - 7/10 12. One Sunday Morning - 10/10
  8. "It's for you asshole!" instead of "It's for you I swoon"
  9. According to the Wikipedia page it was 10 years ago today that Wilco released the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot stream on their website. Happy anniversary. It seems like just yesterday that I first heard this album.
  10. It's the captain going down with the ship. With the line that comes before it "I know that I won't be the easiest to set free, and I know that I won't be the last cold captain tied to the mast" I think it means he won't be the easiest or first to be set free, but he won't be the last, most stubborn...the one who goes down with the ship.
  11. Seems sort of strange to have Whole Love in a different place on the CD than the vinyl. Maybe it works better as a side 3 opener than Capitol City does?
  12. He said that a song was added to the fourth side (as well as an extra 2 minutes of One Sunday Morning) to fill out that side of the record. That doesn't explain why "Whole Love" is moved up in the track listing, though.
  13. Wilco posted the setlist on facebook and listed "Summerteeth" as the first song of the encore. This wasn't played though?
  14. Most plays for me too. I keep hoping to give the album, and especially this song, a break until I get the vinyl. I keep coming back to this song though.
  15. "I don't want to lose this fight, I don't want to end this fight"
  16. "Found a fix for the fits" i love that line
  17. After a week with the album I find that I come back to this song the most. There's just something really moving about this track. And yeah, when it finally breaks at 2:26 its amazing. Almost like a more subdued Muzzle of Bees. I hope they don't shy away from this one during live shows.
  18. 1. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 2. Being There 3. A Ghost Is Born 4. Summerteeth 5. The Whole Love 6. Wilco (The Album) 7. A.M. 8. Sky Blue Sky
  19. I could see One Sunday Morning ending the first set, before the encore.
  20. With some of the other songs getting their own topic I feel like this one deserves it's own (especially since I've seen some negative reactions). I feel like it's one of the most subtly beautiful songs on The Whole Love. It has many shades of Nick Drake and kind of hearkens back to Wishful Thinking. I find it to be one of their most moving songs of this type I've heard. Any other fans of this one? Saw a rising red lung glisten under the sun I wonder when it will pop in the snow The melody is a mistake An embrace at the wake How long does it take for us to know One wake that's been blown
  21. I'm not sure, but I hear "holding my proud" instead of "holding my brow" also "knocked down by the long lie" I'm really not sure about this one, but maybe it's "I am cold for my father" And i definitely hear "this is how I'll tell it"
  22. Well, that would make sense except for "Whole Love" still would come on the same side (side 3) regardless. It's just a matter of it coming first on side 3 or last.
  23. Just noticed something kind of strange that I haven't seen mentioned before. On the picture of the vinyl on the streaming page it lists "Whole Love" as the opener of Side 3 (putting it before "Capitol City"). The same thing is listed on the vinyl pre-order page. But on the CD pre-order page it is listed just as we heard it. Probably just a misprint (I doubt they would have different playlists on the vinyl and CD), but kind of interesting. Perhaps it was the original running order.
  24. you're definitely right about Nick Drake. I feel like he's been a big influence on a lot of songs in the past (Muzzle of Bees, etc.), but his influence is especially apparent on this record...in a good way.
