Sorta busy for my tastes.

Also, is anyone really going to be listening to the most recent Jackson Browne disc in a year? I bet there will be more people still listening to the Fleet Foxes. Not that that's even a good measure of quality anyway. If I'm not listening to something anymore in a year, does that mean I don't actually like it now?

The Decemberists sing about Valerie Plame

That puts it at risk of being a part of something even dumber. -
Yeah, I think the way it works is, the team gets the money for all of its own gear sold within its market (not sure exactly how they define each market). Stuff sold in another team's market or in an area that isn't really any team's market gets split between the clubs.

Yeah, that's Jay Bennett way in the back: -
He's probably going to end up at Texas A&M.

I can't believe I'm talking to Michael Bolton about Robert Pollard. The internet is a strange place.

I think the whole "The execs should take a paycut" argument wasn't really meant by anyone (okay, at least not by me) as a real fix to the problem, just to point out how unfair it was to pin the whole thing on the laborers. The fact is, neither cutting employee wages nor cutting executive salaries will fix the problem -- the problems run a lot deeper and are more complex than that. But if sacrifices are going to be made, it's only fair that they're made fairly across the board -- the onus shouldn't be put on those least responsible for the problems and least able to deal with cuts.

I think the guy is serious, but I'm not sure. Regardless, he spent a lot of money on that video and it is truly a thing of ridiculous beauty.

Yeah, but the move was made as contract dump to open up some cap space for next off season. I'm sure that Dumars expected the team to be better with Iverson than it is right now, but until we see what he does in the off-season, I have a hard time calling the trade a failure just yet.

Why does the UAW even have anything to do with this? McConnell's demand that their wages come in line with foreign automakers in the U.S. was laughable, considering the Toyota plant in Kentucky, which is their largest in the world outside of Japan, pays their workers more than UAW workers are paid. This whole thing is a farce to bust the union, even though the union is not why the auto companies are struggling. How about a cut in executive salaries, which actually are significantly more than their foreign company counterparts?

Either that or Jeff Tweedy just threw that line in there as a nod to Jay Bennett. Or Bennett wrote the line. -

Yes. -
Philly signs Raul Ibanez, which means Pat Burrell is on the market.

Seriously, you're all doing yourself a disservice by not watching this.

I didn't like the Boston Spaceships album at all at first. The whole thing just sounded awful. But then a couple tracks on ...Of to Business really grabbed me, and so I went back and gave Boston Spaceships another shot. Still not great but yeah, there are a couple songs on there that redeem it.

I swear he's a lot calmer when it's just us here with him. When other people come over he flips out a bit. I'm pretty sure it's because he likes you.

Not bad at all -- I thought they were going to jump on the black alt trend.

On the Daily Show last night, Jon Stewart pointed out that you have a better chance of going to prison if you are governor of Illinois (50%) than if you murder someone (48%).

I'm not really sure that number of convictions is a good measure anyway. The most corrupt states probably don't have very strong or enforceable corruption laws. Or if those who would enforce those laws are also corrupt, then the corruption wouldn't be reflected. It's a very flawed methodology.
