One good think I have gotten out of getting older is a fresh perspective on things, i.e. songs I used to find tiring. While The Angel isn't necessarily one, Mary Queen of Arkansas certainly has grown on me over 37 years. I Also, I would add that I used to avoid Wild Billy's Circus Story from The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle; but with Danny's passing and Bruce's response song The Last Carnival, it makes perfect sense.

As I write, I am listening to our own esteemed Dr. No playing some sophistacountry on teh Raydeoh.

Got up at 11:30. Made sausage and eggs. Folded laundry while downtown made preparations for this evening. Went to Toodles and All the young girls love's house. Made burgers, swam. Had some birthday cake for D-man. Came home and watched Bones on netflix online.

Discussions of this nature make me appreciate Bruce Springsteen that much more. Since he turned 50, he has released five Studio records, Two liv records, four live dvds, a live historic show, released a remasterd edition of a classic work and performed live more than many acts half his age (didn't feel like counting all his live shows since septemter 1999).

I find it interesting that Obama turned to General Petraeus to do his voodoo in Afghanistan when a bare three years ago Petrasue was the devil incarnate to the Moveon.org crowd and the Democrats in general. (Remember the surge and the universal indignation, horror and disgust with the proposal and enactment from certain politicos who will not be named here?...Petraeus' idea.) Apparently it's a lot easier for politicians (and internet posters) to have all the answers when sniping from the outside. America is not at war. The Marine Corps is at war. America is watching Big Brother.
