I have thought for years the music that artists like Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban (et al)were playing was basically rock with put on hick affectations. (And I say hick in a loving way...I am from rural Texas. The REAL rural Texas). These guys aren't really Country...Country Radio doesn't play REAL country music. Wilco could probably whip out a kick ass COUNTRY ALBUM and have it ignored by the Clear Channel assholes just like they are ignored with their 'Rock' records.

Wilco to play Neil Young tribute show in L.A.
Sweet Papa Crimbo replied to Dude's topic in Just A Fan
This is an odd enough appearance that one might assume that Neil is a fan and wants him there. Kinda like the time Bruce had Terence Trent D'Arby as a special guest at benefit show. -
Wilco to play Neil Young tribute show in L.A.

With the guitar army that the boys can throw down, Cortez the Killer or Like a Hurricane would be sweet. However, as Jay has played these live for years, Jeff might not want to enter into a controversial seeming 'competition'. Maybe 'Down by the River'. If I had a say into these things...I would like to hear the boys tackle the following: Down by the River Winterlong Cortez the Killer Like a Hurricane Rockin' in the Free World Hey, Hey, My My and My, My, Hey, Hey -
In my former life before I managed to piss everybody off and get roundly chastised, I would have posted this: However, I have reformed. So I won't post it... oh wait....nevermind

This would make a GREAT cover for the next album in the tradition of ...you know...cool bassists giving in to the moment

The defense started playing with intensity and fire, and actually started stopping people. Jenkins is becoming a star in the secondary. With the defense stopping people, Romo doesn't feel the need to the the Jedi on every play.

Who are Wilco's musical influences?

Why am I interested in the timing of members quitting and new members joining? Are you REALLY asking me that question or are you being a tool? -

Obviously I do. -
There was a time when I could actually muster give a fuck for this band. Not for a long time. I wonder if Steven has fallen off the wagon. Ouch... I am always uncomfortable with the 'They haven't been so good since they got clean' statements. But if truth be told, they haven't been good for two albums before they broke up the first time.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, 11/7/09 NYC
Sweet Papa Crimbo replied to LouisvilleGreg's topic in After The Show
I have been a Bruce Springsteen fanatic since before I was able to drive or even shave. He has been the soundtrack to my youth, my married life, my fatherhood and my descent into heavy middle age. I followed him across Texas (San Antonio, AAustin, Dallas, Houston) and points beyond (New Orlean, Jackson, Memphis, Nashville) in the Summer of 1978...my last hurrah before College. He skipped Dallas this tour. I have not had the financial independence to travel outside the Dallas area for shows. And that sucks because this seems to be an unofficial swan song. I am glad I took D-man to see him on -

The Band bio on one of those pages shows with no incluson of Mikael or Pat. Was Nels added to the lineup before or after Leroy left? I remember Pat and Nels being added after Leroy left. A poorly researched site? -

Ican't decide it "There she goes" is an insidiously sweet love song to heroin (as strongly rumored and theorized about) or a lovely song about obsession with a girl. Either way...it is simply sublime There she goes There she goes again Racing through my brain And I just can't contain This feeling that remains There she goes There she goes again Pulsing through my veins And I just can't contain This feeling that remains There she goes (There she goes again) There she goes again (There she goes again) Racing through my brain (There she goes) And I just can't contain This feeling that re

Mass shooting at Miliatry base
Sweet Papa Crimbo replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
And if the reports that he had come under scrutiny for posting on an internet forum about suicide bombing and the like are true? Not unless we put a nice English school teacher on trial for naming a teddy bear Jesus. -
From reports, there were two and possibly three shooters. One of the suspects is reportedly in custody.
