  1. Most definitely worth checking out...Todd Vaden Lewis is a hellacious vocalist. Great heavy guitars These guys experienced the Record Label sodomy routine...had their second album shelved and were never able to regain their momentum. Possum Kingdom led to one of the more surreal moments I have experienced...seeing an 'exotic' dancer do her thing to a song about a serial killer. Not erotic at all, just really eerie. A buddy of mine called her over for a lap dance and he asked her why she spotlighted to PK. "It's got a really good beat and I can groove to it" "Have you listened to the ly
  2. The bass line in the beginning of Hand Shake Drugs...Nels guitar solo in the version on KICKING TELEVISION The opening slide guitar riff on In My Time of Dying "I'm wide awake...I'm not sleeping..."
  3. Glad I'm not the only one. This one, to my reckoning, is REALLY good. I feel that a lot of the criticism of U2 is backlash...Bono's high profile and the messianice pose this band takes. But, DA$MIT, this is a REALLY good record. PERIOD.
  4. Dallas used to be proud of being a "City that works".
  5. DallasPolice Chief Apologizes for Conduct of Officer Who drew gun on NFL player outside hospital By STEVE THOMPSON and TANYA EISERER / The Dallas Morning News Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle stood in front of a dozen news cameras this afternoon at police headquarters to apologize for the behavior of an officer who stopped a family outside a hospital emergency room. Kunkle said Officer Robert Powell has been placed on paid administrative leave in connection with an incident last week in which he stopped a family rushing to visit a dying mother, detaining them for 13 minutes to writ

Bobby said he'd pull out Bobby stayed in Janey had a baby it wasn't any sin They were set to marry on a summer day Bobby got scared and he ran away Jane moved in with her ma out on Shawnee Lake She sighed Ma sometimes my whole life feels like one big mistake She settled in in a back room time passed on Later that winter a son came along Spare parts And broken hearts Keep the world turnin' around Now Janey walked that baby across the floor night after night But she was a young girl and she missed the party lights Meanwhile in South Texas in a dirty oil patch Bobby heard 'bout his son bein'
  7. Highway 29 --- Bruce Springsteen I slipped on her shoe, she was a perfect size seven I said "there's no smokin' in the store ma'am" She crossed her legs and then We made some small talk, that's where it should have stopped She slipped me a number, I put it in my pocket My hand slipped up her skirt, everything slipped my mind In that little roadhouse On highway 29 It was a small town bank, it was a mess Well I had a gun, you know the rest Money on the floorboards, shirt was covered in blood And she was cryin', her and me we headed south On highway 29 In a little desert motel, the air it
  8. I was driving through my hometown I was just kinda killin' time When I seen a face staring out of a black velvet painting From the window of the five and dime I couldn't quite recall the name But the pose looked familiar to me So I asked the salesgirl "Who was that man Between the doberman and Bruce Lee?" She said "Just a local hero" "Local hero" she said with a smile "Yeah a local hero he used to live here for a while" I met a stranger dressed in black At the train station He said "Son your soul can be saved" There's beautiful women nights of low livin' And some dangerous money to be made T

  12. However, he didn't kill Ben. He shot Ben. Maybe the point here is that Ben had to be kept from joining the 'others' prematurely.
  13. Now that Sayid is off the reservation, so to speak, where does he go now? He truly appears at the end of his rope. He has a number of things to answer for. Even though he has a gained a sense of community with the group, he is an outsider. The island tends to judge, heal (if necessary) and (occassionally) demand a sacrifice. Sayis definitely deserves the first, needs the second. Will he become a victim of the third? There is something brewing under the surface here, and I can't get a handle on it. Ben WANTED Sayid to go back to the island. IF the future cannot be changed, presumably, Ben ha

  16. This is VERY disturbing. The video...damn. As trite as the arguement has become...it looks like a black white issue.
  17. I had to check the date to see if it was April 1. Are you kidding me? This sounds like a SNL skit gone awry. 'Three Stooges' coming together at MGM Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk. MGM and the Farrelly brothers are finally slapping together their high-profile cast for "The Three Stooges," a comedy project the filmmakers have been developing for years. Sean Penn is set to play Larry, and Jim Carrey is in negotiations to play Curly. Benicio del Toro is a rumored possibility for the brothers' taciturn leader, Moe. The studio is looking to start production in the fall for a 2010 release slot. The projec

  19. A real what the fuck moment there... I guess the past CAN be changed.
  20. I could have written this...it's scary how similar this is to my experience (substitute Bruce Springsteen for Yes and it IS me)
  21. So...the administration is considering letting the auto industry fail because they have a failed business model, but the administration supports a failed business model for the recording industry and antiquated copyright laws. I don't dislike our CiC. He seems both likeable and capable. I simply despise that he is portrayed as being the second coming of Moses crossed with Teddy Roosevelt, John Kennedy and Franklin Roosevelt simply because he is a charasmatic figure. I hope there's more cowboy than hat this time.
