  1. You know I saw your message earlier and I actually went into online banking and was going to PM you my balances but now I'm REALLY depressed. How the hell did I end up so far in debt?
  2. Anybody who likes this new stuff is stupid Anybody who doesn't like this new stuff is stupid Anybody who hasn't formed an opinion yet is stupid
  3. yes (and what the hell is holding that leak up anyway???) and yes, of course
  4. from Wikipedia: A hurdy gurdy (alternately, hurdy-gurdy) is a stringed musical instrument with several strings arranged so that they can be played simultaneously by a rotating wheel covered with rosin. It is essentially a mechanical violin. This method of producing sound is similar to string instruments such as the violin, but because the hurdy gurdy produces several notes together, with a melody accompanied by chords made by "drone strings", its sound is perhaps more comparable to that of bagpipes. For this reason, the hurdy gurdy is often accompanied by the bagpipes, particularly in French a
  5. No. There was some sort of presale for the Portland show only but that had nothing to do with the band - a venue or radio station thing. No other presales. Good luck!
  6. The show I saw them do in Montreal a few weeks ago was a magical, make you speechless, can't stop grinning, end of show exhausted, truly fucking amazing experience. That said, I can understand why some people are confused that they followed Funeral with Neon Bible.
  7. The recorded version relies so heavily on the organ - I was glad to finally see some greater use of keyboards in the live setting.
  8. Is he pretty much of a dead ringer for a younger Tweedy?
  9. Oh it breaks my heart to see those stars Smashing a perfectly good guitar I dont know who they think they are Smashing a perfectly good guitar
  10. I would think the $ offers Weller has already seen to reform The Jam are pretty huge. I really don't think he'll go anywhere near this.
  11. This story would only make sense to me if the tour started April 1.
  12. Which was itself then eclipsed with the wonder of Judy Judy going on Larry King to pronounce on all this This is Britney's bravest career move since she married that first guy (the one that lasted 24 hours - William Hung was his name I think)
  13. That's a great set. I somehow managed to find a copy for $6. Might have been the deal of a lifetime. Oh yeah, Painted From Memory is wonderful!
  14. I was at the BSI earlier this week to see Josh Ritter and said to some people we met there something like "if you like the idea of an somewhat insane guy playing accordian and ranting, you really should see Geoff". I have seen him before and thought he was fantastic (sort of like what Hammell on Trial would sound like if he was from the Ukraine) - but it was at a festival so his set was time-limited. So yeah, I agree that he's great and I very well may go out there for that.
  15. Ox- American Lo Fi Something else I heard about here and am now digging...... Plus, they're coming to the Black Sheep Inn which is like a nirvana for shows.
  16. Absolutely! This band has to get back to its death metal roots.
  17. Give us a few minutes here but I think I can do that
  18. I skipped a date here earlier in the tour because I wanted to avoid the potential disappointment but as with others here, I'm hearing now that they're doing a pretty good show.
  19. There is still nothing approaching Rebellion or Power's Out but the new stuff is performed with a lot more energy live than I might have thought.
