  1. I went with my 2 brothers and some friends. We too were reliving our youth. We all saw Rush together back in the 80s. We're all a lot older now but that band still puts on a great show.
  2. I saw Bright Eyes close for Gillian Welch (I was there to see Gillian and David) and was actually pretty impressed with the performance. He was not nearly as sad sounding as I imagined. I have yet to see Ryan Adams live but I'm a fan of 1/2 his songs (mostly Whiskeytown and with the Cardinals). Based on what I've heard from live recordings, I am really anticipating Ryan Adams and the Cardinals coming to Southern Calif again soon.
  3. QB Drew Brees RB Brian Westbrook RB Reggie Bush WR Reggie Wayne WR Braylon Edwards RB Marion Barber RB Vernand Morency WR Devery Henderson WR Deion Branch TE Tony Gonzales WR Vincent Jackson QB Jay Cutler TE LJ Smith DEF Seattle K Jason Hanson Pretty stoked considering I drafted live while I was working on a group project while staying late at work. I would have much rather been sitting at home and drinking beer but it worked out pretty well. I'll definitely be pulling for a different group of players than I normally do.
  4. I'm going to see them next month in San Diego. A couple friends are huge fans and bought me a ticket. I've seen the movie and own a couple of Anton's records but haven't seen BJM live. I was fortunate enough to catch him in a previous band called Electric Cool Aid back in the late 80s when they opened for Big Drill Car at Chapman College. Fantastic show. I really look forward to this one as well. According to my friends, the last time they came through they played a 3 1/2 set . Talk about getting your $ worth.
  5. I'm looking forward to the lobster fishing show coming this month. Does anyone watch those cool underwater ocean programs with the rare footage on Discovery? I watched some of this last night and was blown away.
  6. I'm bummed I missed this. I guess I need to pay more attention on the weekends.
  7. I caught them a bunch of times around '98 and '99. By 2000 I stopped taking drugs and they didn't sound as good to me. I still have a great appreciation for them as a very fun band. But without drugs, they completely bore me. I do think they are great musicians with a creative vision and I wish them the best in their future ventures.
  8. I saw them open up for Motley Crue in 1989, I think. They had one song I liked but I can't recall the name. The show was in L.A. and it seemed like all the women wanted to show their boobs. It was a fun night.
  9. I have some friends who experimented with it when we were younger. I was supposed to but missed the boat that day. They cooked up about 100 times the recommended dose accidentally and it took them to some scary places. One of my friends never fully recovered. I also met a crazy old fiddle player named Randy who claims it made him nuts.
  10. Are we at 10 yet? I still see only 9 teams.
  11. Thurston's new record 'Trees Outside the Academy' is REALLY good. It might as well be Sonic Youth. 'Wonderful Witches' sounds like a great Sonic Youth tune.
  12. One of my favorite of all time.
  13. I wish I would have known about this sooner.
  14. I'm in. This is going to be fun. Coolout
  15. I saw a show on that tour too. I like the way they do things now with 2 sets instead of one long set.
  16. Here's a link to the setlists for all the Rush tours. http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/setlists.php
  17. This was the highlight for me as well. This show was a lot different from the show I saw in 2004. At that show they played a lot of the more jammy stuff like 2112, Xanadu and La Villa Strangiato. But even though I love those songs I felt this show was better. I was also really happy they played Entre Nous. Even though this came out on a record released 27 years ago, they didn't start playing it live until this tour. Alex Lifeson played acoustic and electric guitar on it.

  19. I have given out about 10 and only 1 has done well. The rest have downloaded a bunch and not uploaded anything. One of my friends has been sitting with a .233 share ratio for about 6 months and he's survived somehow. I just decided to stop giving them out unless I am able to get them started in person.
  20. $3340 Can we get the money up front?
  21. 10... to get stoned, light a candle and some incense, put on their favorite Grateful Dead tape and ignore the burned out bulb for a week. (me included)
