  1. Do you have to create an account at Cash Music and then download?
  2. That's from the Center Stage show I think. I saw him on that tour and it is probably my #1 concert experience. I would love to see some archival releases from the solo 92 and 99 shows.
  3. I listened to saratoga. Yikes! Very touch and go. Some fun moments though and they've definitely create a nice, fun vibe. Saying they play better than Wilco?! Wilco is a well-oiled machine
  4. Along with Phish, they should do one free one per tour and make them $10.
  5. Maybe a guilty pleasure...Jon Anderson, The Invention of Knowledge. Very Yes-like. He made the album with a Swedish prog dude Roine Stolt.
  6. I can see that. I'm that way with Phish, so I know what you're saying. Thanks for the heads up!
  7. Holy shit!! What the fuck is going on?! Loved Rob's Trio album as well as seeing him with Bob Weir. His bass playing is always recognizable which is quite a feat on the stand up bass. His playing with Ratdog live and the album is excellent too. Really made Ratdog standout. RIP Getting Victim and Saint mixed up!? LOL, it was probably Victim. I really liked seeming them too. Would've loved to see them in a smaller venue.
  8. Yes, Highway 61 and Methamphetamine were great. As was Barstow. Hell, I love all the 'band' songs in the acoustic setting. It just shows how strong the songs are. Not many artists can do that. The venue was great. I had someone escort me to my seat! I did not drink wine though. Also, couldn't help thinking some folks were there having dinner and didn't know a concert was scheduled.
  9. I'd love to hear some of that '85 stuff. Have to do a search. The band is so great on the recent records. I also like Dylan trying to sing rather than croak. Song selection is awful. Why do all these classic artist acquiesce to the 'standard covers' BS? I guess it's better that putting out awful original music a la Neil Young.
  10. Jay was excellent. Once you see him a few times, you begin to understand that he's just a quiet dude immersed in the performance. I find him to be one of the few artists that can hold my attention playing solo for an entire show (another being Neil Young). He played all of Trace with great care, not just running through the tunes. Played some nice rarities (no UT) and a great totally re-imagined Rainy Day Women. Venue was great. Easy parking etc. If you're in Atlanta, definitely check out the City Winery.
  11. Jay Farrar tonight in Atlanta. He's two guys with him playing random stringed instruments. One is a pedal steel!
  12. I did too. I'm very curious about the limitations on these. "Only to be used for shitty concerts and the circus."
  13. I love Highway Companion. Not one clunker in the bunch.
  14. I love seeing Dark Star Orchestra once or twice a year. They really have the vibe and they play just like the Dead.
  15. In and NPR interview recently he said that there is essentially another full album from the sessions. Should be good.
  16. Yeah, bob singing jerry has always been rough. I really wish they had let one person (other than bob) sing the Jerry tunes in all the post garcia incarnations. Bruce was the best. Always a tribute and he made them his own. As far as Dead and Co go...I usually watch the first few songs and then quit watching/listening. It's exhausting to try and get through the whole show. glad the kids have some semblance of the Dead to go see.
  17. Looks like Circles Around the Sun are playing Lockin'. That would be fun. Watched some of the first set of Dead & Co. at Bonaroo last night. Everyone seems to be having fun and it was cool to see Donna. Where was she at FTW? Mayer is definitely taking some leadership. He sounds great, but, as always, he's not Jerry. I can never hear Oteil's bass with them either.
  18. Just back from CRB in Atlanta. They played a festival here. Second time seeing them. Really like the new bassist. He actually jams a bit and fits in well. Of course Neal was awesome. Chris sounded great too. Love his rhythm playing. He looks so damn spaced out. They played a funky version of Dylan's Baby Blue. A few new ones I think. They've worked up I Ain't Lyin' too. Only complaint was they didn't do a Dead cover! Edit-I guess they were at Mountain Jam yesterday or tomorrow. What a trip.
  19. Right, my station never played Dead...for them to play Alabama Getaway meant something was up. so sad. i was not surprised and kind of relieved.
  20. Totally. I remember getting in the car and hearing a rare Dead track in Aug. 95. Sure enough, Garcia had died.
  21. Awesome. Jerry looks great as does Phil in that nice sweater! This sounds so good on Without A Net.
  22. Just a joke, of course. Great comparison...as is the comparison of carbonite Solo with the cover. LOL!
