Very moving film, though it really bummed me out. It was nice to see a positive portrayal of pre-war Afghanistan, and people who thought both the communist Russians and the Taliban were full of crap. I really liked Amir's father. He was a noble character, despite his flaws. The main character was... well I don't want to give anything away if you haven't read the book or seen this.

Continuing my post from last night, though I voted for Obama, what in the hell is up with the AP not declaring GA for McCain yet? Yahoo (AP) results 99% reporting, a commanding 240k lead that he has held since the early results started coming in, and they WILL NOT call it for McCain, even at 11 AM EST the next day. WTF?

I voted for Obama, but I have to ask, why in the hell won't the AP call Georgia for McCain with nearly a 500,000 vote lead and 93% of the precincts in? He's had that lead for most of the night and they won't do it. That, and the networks rushing to call states for Obama with 3% or less of the results in, are utterly ridiculous. Yahoo (Reporting AP)

You sure about that? Playing a CD isn't a performance right. It's a (re)play right, which the labels are usually pretty ruthless about retaining. I think you'd be right if the band itself was playing a live set in house.

Not a flawless film, but it worked on me. The poignant scene between Spilzman and the German Officer near the end got me. I won't bother to be cynical about belief suspension or inaccuracies. The 40 min doc was worth the investment, if only to hear Polanski wax on his personal experiences escaping the Krakow ghetto. In his comments, he makes a disturbingly accurate point about the potential for inhumanity in all of us.

I never get a release earlier enough to do this, but "I told you so"... hah... fun! It's still in my rotation, but Jenny's lyrics are really clunky - good line, then sloppy/clunky/lazy line... I think it suffers.

INTP as well, and wondering if there's a place in the modern world for us. Economy doesn't value us much, with a few rare, and very big exceptions. I usually find this kind of stuff to be nonsense, but I was tested again recently, and darn if it isn't resonating.
