My toddler calls Janglin, "the tootsie roll" song. I'm not even sure that's what they're saying, but he loves it. That video they have on their home page is a bit over the top (imagery is laid on a bit thick), but the music is catchy.

Two things: 1. Shatner does Palin's resignation speech: Hulu - Shatner does Palin's speech 2. Exhibit A: Is Obama a Natural Born Citizen? Constititional Crisis Looms No, that isn't a political website. It's the politics board on a college sports website. 525 replies and he won't give it up. That guy is the definitive Birther. -
Let's talk about the new Fiery Furnaces album

They're touring with White Rabbits. Never seen either. Have to admit, I have only heard a few songs. I absolutely love Benton Harbor Blues, but haven't made the effort to get into anything else. What should I expect to see live (White Rabbits too)? -
I saw this and Push this week because I forgot to reorder my netflix queue. What a bunch of trash. Knowing started off well, and then fell completely apart. Push was almost laughably bad, but the screaming chinamen made me want to hurt small animals. WTF was Dakota Fanning doing in that trash fest? I probably wont catch it in the theater. I hope the DVD release is soon. It's been in my queue for a year or so now. I am scared that it is going to be horribly depressing. I don't need that right now. Oh, and even with "knowing" and "push", this thread was too high brow. So I submit las

I probably like REM's early catalogue as much or more than anything Wilco has done. That's not a slight to Jeff & Co. They were an amazing band.

Re: is palin hot? I'll say it bluntly - the thought makes my dick limp. Maybe it's the accent, the vapidness, the naked ambition absent any qualifications, the batshit crazy religious views, or maybe it's the 10 lbs of makeup she has to put on her face to make it presentable, and that beehive hair. Ugh. Seriously. Couldn't get it up.

Is it just me, or does Evan Rachel Wood look yummy in that picture? okay, maybe it's just her cleavage. How in the world did Marylin Manson ever land her?

Always late to the party, I am. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN_OFYIfM94&feature=related Fucking awesome. Gonna go listen to that Deertick album, and maybe Josephine.

I dont have much cred around here, but FWIW - I'm diggin it. I really like Two Rings - that keyboard twirl may be a tad bit too much, but it's a really catchy tune. Plus you guys are right down 85 from me. If you get a show in Charlotte, please do post it. I'd like to come see you. PS - Do I hear a little Robert Pollard? No?

Are some of you with long lists leaving the Phoenix album off because it's too mainstream? I have a hard time believing anyone wouldn't like it. Maybe you haven't heard it yet.

I have been absolutely obsessed with White Denim - I Can Tell You. Probably 50 listens in the past few days. They have a new album coming out in 2 weeks called Fits. If it's this good, I can't wait.

Just thought I'd clear the air a bit. - I'm remorseful, not angry. - I'm definitely not in that bitter alt.country fanbase. I'm more of the pop/rock/folk type. I've really enjoyed the progression of the band up until recently - I chuckled at that quote though. Well played. - I'd buy any of these guys a beer and feel awful saying anything negative about any of them, or as a whole - I just don't enjoy the busy style of much of the recent stuff. I guess I didn't realize how much it bugged me until I watched Ashes. Maybe I was in denial - I'm sure a hundred other people have said it before, bu

I'm not trolling, but I felt compelled to say it. Ashes, for all its slick production and musicianship, is pretty boring, outside of the anecodtal/personal stuff. I've been a fan since I first heard AM. I bought Being There the day it was released. I did the UT back catalogue. Etc. But see my signature. SBS bored me (outside of You Are My Face). Ashes did too. I've heard the new record twice and I really liked Bull Black Nova, but I havent formed a final opinion (out of fear of being let down?). But back to Ashes - please don't kill me for it, but half the band is overplaying, especially

Loved it. Not a flawless movie, but pretty close. Of all the things to nitpick, I had a problem with the unever timeline progression between the two old men, but otherwise I really loved it, and so did my 2 year old. The Carl/Ellie story left me a little bit misty eyed. Pixar is building a reputation that is so good that it is going to be hard to continue to live up to. They can't keep putting out this level of quality, can they? Oh, and on a separate note, I love the way Docter describes Star Wars in his favorite movies list. That's exactly what it was like, right down to the shaking in

I have, and still can, listened to Teenage Riot on loop for an hour or two straight. I used to have an unhealthy obsession with Disappearer, but it seems to have waned. I think Daydream Nation and Goo are still sentimental favorites because that's when I got into them. They just never get old to me.

Thank you Gorilla vs Bear. I thought this was just a retro gimmick and it would get old quick. Nope. Neon Indian - Deadbeat Summer Keeps working its way up my playlist instead of out of it.

Okay, it took me a while, but better late than never. My Girls is fucking wonderful. Hope the rest of the album is that good. -
Offset by investing in commodities and cheap real estate. The situation sucks if it is costing you your job/livelihood. But if you've got some cash lying around, it's a really good time to make long term plays in several areas.

Phoenix on SNL Watching it over and over and over. Fuck, I cant wait for 5/26. Gotta find a leak.

5 songs in, and the only one I like is the title track I'm not exactly a casual fan either. Their other LPs are in constant rotation on my iPod.

Not bad. The pacing was a little uneven, and I have to admit that it took me a good 10 seconds for it to sink in that Kristin Scott Thomas' character was a lesbian. I watched it with english voice dubs 'cause I was too tired to read subtitles. A few of the voice overs they chose were... not what you'd expect from the characters.

one word: TYLER.

Another one I missed when it was released. Not bad at all.
