The new Guitar Player magazine (Woodstock issue, Jimi on cover) has a Derek Trucks interview. He confirms that Dickey Betts was invited to play at the Beacon shows, as was everyone they could think of who had any connection to the band. He also says he's leaving the Allmans in the "very near future". Oh, and the flatted 9th is a very important note to him.

He said he got a full body infection and almost died after working in a studio that was so filthy there was semi-unidentified bodily fluid/goo on the walls which had never been cleaned up.

True, but in some cases CDs get sent in for test pressings and then shelved for one reason or another before the full run is pressed/released.

CD pressing plants are another source of leaks.

The Who: Tommy A Quick One Bowie: Width of a Circle Rush has a whole bunch. By-Tor, Necromancer, 2112, etc. This album has a coupe suites (McDonald and Giles, offshoot of King Crimson. Some say these tunes would have made up the bulk of KC's second album had they not split up):

I've never remebered to bring a pick with me when I go to a guitar store, so I usually play a little tune I learned when I took a beginner level classical guitar class in college. Hey, last year I got an Ibanez Jet King...like this: I'm thinking up upgrading the pickups, but all the options on the market are kind of overwhelming. The stock pickups are really muddy and flat sounding. I'd like to get something along the lines of a Les Paul sound. The guitar has a coil-tap switch, so the pickups would need to be compatible with that. Any ideas/tips? What kind of price range is realistic?

Maybe they should have refused the gift, saying they insisted on adopting a rescue, then Ted could have sent it to a rescue organization. Then the Obamas could have adopted the dog from the rescue org. Isn't that the typical smoke-and-mirrors approach to things in DC?

I was wondering how long it'd take for a Roger Dean cover to show up. I was going to post one myself, but I prefer the insides of his abum covers and couldn't decide which one to post. And anyway, I've probably posted too much in this thread as it is.

It's cool that they managed to squeeze one of the best rock album covers ever out of someone who hates rock and roll as much as Crumb.
