I heard Secret of the Sea in the Gap yesterday.

Picked this up yesterday (apparently yesterday was the official release date) and I think it is great. I would say better than Transistor Radio and pretty damn close to Transfiguration of Vincent but when it comes down to it this guy has yet to release any bad material.

Haha I like that one. Also, I too thought it was awesome to see Bob on the guitar. Lets just hope he'll whip it out for a tune or two on this tour.

I've definetly heard of/seen those sorts of amp but I thought that those Epi ones are legit. Maybe im wrong?

What's Rock Salt and Nails?

I guess I would say Either/Or (was my first ES album) but I also love Basement (though there is a bit of filler in there IMO).

So I got the record player today and tried it out with one of my few records (Billy Bragg's - Workers Playtime) and was impressed but noticed that the quality wasn't that great. So I was wondering, what difference does a cartridge/stylus make? How do I replace the current cartridge with a newer, better quality one? All help is appreciated. Edit: I find that it is not so much an issue of quality as opposed to an issue of a lot of crackling and popping sounds. Also, the record I used had never been played or removed from its sleeve before so its not an issue of the record being scratched or an

I bought their 2nd and 3rd EPs (the first one seems to be hard to come by) and thought they were solid but from what I hear you need to see them live. Good band though. My only complaint is that their singer's voice has a striking resemblence to Gavin DeGraw which irks me at times.

I think One by One is my favorite song off of KTV because of that lap steel part.

I can sort of see what your saying. If your talking about the intro part I am pretty sure nels is using some sort of screw driver/metal rod thing and sort of banging against the strings and yeah it sounds a bit out of tune but I think its the intention. I just listened to 4 or 5 different versions of the song and I can hear it sometimes but not always.

The other day my friend said he wanted to name a band 'Breaking Up' so he could start every show by saying "Hey, we're Breaking Up."

So it looks like the new Dylan finally leaked...

After hearing this I think its a good album but I just don't see it as the type of record I would listen to more than a few times. But congrats to Dylan for still doing it at his age. -
So it sounds like they will be releasing audio tracks as downloads? This could be a plus, a studio quality live tweedy solo album. This DVD release should be a good one.

Can anyone help me out with PM here? Would be much appreciated. -
Pretty cool two nights at my school (bu - boston).

Good to know thats up and running again, I missed that site for a while. Edit: Also this whole thing about shutting down tabsites is rediculous. This doesn't even compare to music downloading. All these tabs are user created and submitted, its equatable to downloading fans' covers of a band's songs.

Cool stuff but I don't think its him singing is it? According to his myspace it has a bunch of guest vocalists.

I went for a pioneer PL-512. A lower end pioneer model that i landed for about 30 bucks. We'll see how that goes. If it blows, 30 bucks isnt that much money. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I've been playing an Epiphone SG model. It was my first electric guitar and since then I have owned a Jazzmaster and a Custom Telecaster. I sold both the Tele and the Jazzmaster because I realized I only really play the SG because it plays and sounds so good and at around 400-500 dollars those things are a steal.

I have a stereo system already that im pretty sure i can run it through...hopefully as well as some connector cables that I use to connect my stereo system to my laptop hopefully I should be set.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. I've been looking at that sony one. I usually have the problem with sony electronics in general that they break down really quickly but if you've been using that one for two years sounds pretty well made.

So for all of my life I've been a CD/Computer type guy when it comes to getting my music but I have been interested in getting a record player recently and was wondering what do I need to get a decent system. I have speakers and I guess all I need is record player. I am pretty low on cash so the cheaper the better any suggestions would be appreciated.
