Maybe. He hasn't put out a tape in a while. That region between Pakistan and Afghanistan is notoriously a tough place to crack. I'm sure the Pakistanis are more than happy to take our money and not do something that would piss off quite a bit of their own citizens.

Believe it or not, it is simpler to explain 9/11 by attributing it to a terrorist conspiracy of some complexity than to a government conspiracy to attack its own citizens. Unless you have truly gone through the looking-glass and think al-Qaida is a U.S. government creation.

I don't know if OBL has actually been indicted by the U.S. (The agency which would do so is the U.S. Department of Justice. The CIA is not a law enforcement agency.) I think the president saying that anybody on Earth was welcome to kill OBL and would be paid handsomely for doing so makes an indictment a moot point.

Do you have trouble maintaining an election?

Arthur Jensen: You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won't have it. Is that clear? You think you've merely stopped a business deal? That is not the case. The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back. It is ebb and flow, tidal gravity. It is ecological balance. You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations; there are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems; one vast, interwoven, -

We in New York have learned something from the Spitzer gubernatorialness. It's one thing to say you're going to completely reform everything and no longer conduct business as usual, it is quite another to actually do it. Presidents aren't dictators; they have to cooperate with other sources of power (Congress, the private sector) to get things done. To really substantively change things up in here, Obama's election will have to be accompanied by the election of a great number of allies in Congress, and will have to be backed up by the continued participation and outrage of his supporters. -

Have you taken economics yet at that fancy-pants college you attend?

The above is too politically loaded to judge on that alone. The writer certainly believes the guy is a political prisoner.

"Dondante" is a good soundtrack for that realm between this world and the magic world.

Girl problems, and hope that they'll turn out OK? Walken ripped; I would have done The Thanks I Get or You Are My Face is I were Wilco, but I am not. It could be that those songs were the ones they were particularly feeling that week.

Yeah, she is said to be a good actress but I did not see much evidence of it last night. Cute as the cutest button in the universe, though.

Once in a theater. Went with my friend Marc. And I saw it again via Netflix. A fine movie.
