Thought some of you might enjoy this. I have recently be trying to record some of the stuff I have written over the years. If you get a chance, check it out and let me know what you think. The vocal mic I used on this particular tune is a Shure SM7b, the same mic Tweedy has used in the past (funny looking mic at the beginning of IATTBYH. Thanks! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=962145&songID=7696332

Yeah, just heard this live last night in Ft. Worth, It rocked my face off. These mp3s don't do it justice. I like this change in direction.... -

Its like 50 bucks for a 30 min reel, of course you can record over and over on it, and i always mix down to my computer, so a couple of reels is enough for me

yeah thats pretty much the industry standard for micing amps

Guitar amps sound like shit recorded directly in my opinion..... I have had great luck with a small speakered amp and a shure -sm57 mic. Look into the epiphone valve jr amps

Some people have requested this so I decided to see if I can make any sense out of it. Ive never really written tab so bear with me Key: The () simply means to start with that note already bent up, then bend it back down, So in other words the (17) in the (17) ^ 15 means to bend the note on the 15th fret up the the 17th before you play it, then when you play it bend back down to the natural 15th fret.....wow I home that makes some sense, a reverse bend is all it is.... ^=Bend *= Vibrato on that note Hell is Chrome Solo Tab E----12-----------------------------------------13--------

If your computer has a firewire port I recommend the Presonus Firepod. Records 8 inputs simultaneously, comes with cubase LE. Blows the Mbox bullshit out of the water

ive got the solo down pretty well. Having a prunes and custard helps, but I'm sure you can get that same type sound without one. Ill work on tabbing it out soon.... no there is no whammy bar needed...and its not that heavily processed....that swooping sound that is so mesmorizing is actually two guitars (one is feeding back) more on this later
-
Yeah, excatly. This seems logical, thats definatly not a delay pedal...
-
From what I could tell at the March solo shows hes got the holy grail's reverb cranked way up, and simply blends the signal with a volume, kinda a poor man's expression pedal
-
I can emulate it pretty well with some garageband synths
