I like soundtrack better then the other 4 loved their live show gutted they split up

I get they can be polarizing...I would however recommend their first two albums (Self Titled and Lincoln) for a newbie. Drum machines, accordian and quirky lyrics. I have never heard another band that sounded like them from 1983 til 1987. If you want more of a full band sound John Henry is great and it is a more developed sound. If you are into educational music they have a few albums with really smart lyrics geared toards the kids but still worth a listen.

Coldplay is the poor mans U2! Muse is the poor mans Radiohead!
-
Son Volt 2.0 is the poor mans Son Volt 1.0? I actually like both but you can't compete with the original group

Best paid fanclub was REM. for $10 got a holiday card, free vinyl/cd single of unreleased stuff an prioirty tickets. I scored a pair in the first row, fourth row, and eight row the three times I took advantage and too boot the tickets had less fees then TM!
-
ironic because tickets this summer for BNL are $100. TMBG tickets never pass $35ish
-
Last holdouts are Springsteen top us tickets are around $100 and Phish never over $60/70...

I wonder if it is the promoter or the artist that push these vip things?

I'm going to add Elliott Smith too. Maybe he wasn't the most technical but you can tell an Elliott song by his style...his tone really set the songs
