He may be a dumb ass, but huge increases in property taxes are a real concern. Many municpalities are skipping the actual valuation process in their assessments and are just using statistical sales data. For example if you live in a community where there was a huge boom in new construction and sales you could find yourself taxed at the same rate as a brand new home based upon finished square footage regardless of condition, actual market value or the fact that your home was built in 1908.
