  1. I think the shift might have to do with fragmentation of the target audience. I have a sense that a lot of songwriters are writing for the few hundred thousand people that they hope will buy their album, rather than hoping that a great song will get them radio play.
  2. Here's a live, solo, acoustic version: http://www.sendspace.com/file/j62ju7
  3. Seems like a bunch of us (including me) picked them. The tough thing about picking against chalk early is that they can become REAL bracket busters.

  5. From what I understand, the HDTVs have an expected lifespan of 11-13 years, so I'm not sure how much longevity you can expect for your investment.
  6. Craigslist is moderated by the community at large. If enough people flag it, it gets booted. The link got posted on VC. Draw your own conclusions.
  7. Oh man. I make it a point to fill out my brackets before hearing any of that stuff. Then again, my picks are somewhat random and I did pick Baylor. Blah.
  8. Fairly easy picks so far. I wasn't feeling any of the twelve seeds, IIRC. I think I picked Marquette am not at all confident.
  9. I have. cbs.sportsline.com was offering the same service, but they may be full as well. Lookie at Georgia in the lead again. I did not pick them.
  10. Pitt is a trendy pick. I think it's because they had a few national televised games in primetime recently. They are good, though.
  11. No official confirmation from the team, but at this point the rumor is that they just placed him on straight waivers and he'll still be on the roster if no team claims him.
  12. There's a rumor floating around the White Sox have cut Juan Uribe. From a baseball standpoint, I'd be thrilled. He is blocking two youngish talents in Danny Richar and Alexei Ramirez. However, they also picked up Uribe's $5 million option during the off-season. It'd be surprising if they ate that so soon. Edit: http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....ibe-waived.html
  13. I don't see why that would cause a firestorm, but the Ashley part reminded me the David Cross bit...."Senator, because of your opponent's policies I had no money for Christmas dinner and I was forced to eat my own eyeball."
  14. I doubt that the items in question violate a copyright (I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice), but we don't allow advertisements of any kind, except in some cases where the advertisement is incidental to the poster's participation on the board (grandfather clause sort of thing). I'm closing this thread before it becomes an indirect ad.
  15. Nope. Sorry bud. I appreciate that you looked before leaping, though.
  16. Anyone see the lip bite scale on Colbert the other night?
  17. Brian Anderson has gotten a ton of ST ABs because of injuries. His line before today's game, with 39 ABs, was .359/.468/.641 and he already has a homerun today. He is competing with Jerry Owens and Carlos Quentin for the White Sox final starting outfield spot. Owens is fast, but doesn't have much going for him (other than frequent groin injuries) and Carlos Quentin (tore up the minor leagues, but has a nagging shoulder injury).
  18. Supposedly, Kerry asked McCain to be his running mate 15 times and was turned down each time. Seriously. Now, what were we talking about?
