  1. Yep, you got it! So great that you were able to make it out for this show! I had a blast up front with you and B, despite the craning of necks. Sorry I was such bad company for most of the day (and that goes out to H&R from EC, MD as well). And ah, Wilco Tango Foxtrot: You were very hoppy.
  2. Glad you had a good time, but you must have smoked some seriously high-quality product if you thought they actually gave away a dinette set. "The Price Is Right" theme was played, but to my knowledge, Wilco shows haven't turned into game shows yet. (I believe that a couple of the dinners they gave away were for a place called Dinette. ) Nice to get a couple of nuggets, as always. Can't remember the last time I'd heard "On and On and On," and it's definitely a song that's more powerful in the live setting. Being able to hear the details in "More Like The Moon" and the segue from "Someday, Som
  3. I'm sure the kindly mods will take care of merging threads, but you know my thing about titling show threads so I'm putting the complete setlist, as played, for Pittsburgh here. Anyway, here was how tonight's final (for now, anyway) "An Evening With..." show went down: —"The Price Is Right" theme music intro— Wilco (the song) Bull Black Nova You Are My Face IATTBYH> One Wing A Shot in the Arm On and On and On Company In My Back Deeper Down Handshake Drugs California Stars Impossible Germany I'll Fight Poor Places> ----into acoustic set---- Spiders (Kidsmoke) More Like The Moon So
  4. Excellent work! As some friends of mine who used to be/are big Crowded House fans like to joke about as it relates to Neil Finn, we always need the "hair and pants" report (except in Jeff's case, I suppose it would be shoes and guitars)!
  5. Well, as they say, you can't make them all (do they say that? ) Sorry to disappoint the masses -- like four of you -- but I couldn't make it up to Hartford so I'm no help tonight setlist-wise. Glad to hear that they did Magazine for Nate's birthday, though! And That's Not The Issue...maybe they were just getting it in shape for you, B. I shall be back in form for Philly and Pittsburgh, so I'll help out from there if need be. You can resume hanging on tight then, if so inclined. Till then, I'll be waiting for the Hartford setlist like everyone else. (Your effort looks pretty good, though,
  6. Watch this thread jump to about 20 pages in the next 20 minutes with "Got mine!" posts...
  7. It probably has to do with the fact that the core of Wilco's management team is now based in western Massachusetts as well as Mass Moca being a cool location (especially for a summertime thing). LA has more going for it as it relates to Wilco than you think, but honestly, who would want to go there in August? OK, I can think of several people. But for an outdoor festival?
  8. Wah wah... As for the mystery guitar, I think he used to use a similar one on "Hell Is Chrome" (one that I dubbed the "King of Thailand" guitar because the big silver sticker or whatever it is features -- I'm serious -- the King of Thailand) but I don't think the one he used last night was that one. I could be wrong, of course; I wasn't close enough to get a detailed look at it. Also forgot to mention my favorite bit of banter from last night. It came during the dinner giveaways -- incidentally, this was the first giveaway I've seen that didn't involve a restaurant, I think two of the thr
  9. A few random observations then... Kind of a weird crowd, I thought. It seemed like, for whatever reason, the air went out of the proverbial sails somewhere around "Jesus, etc." The crowd singalong was pretty weak and Jeff went back on mike quicker than I've seen in a while (i.e. even before the "Voices whine..." verse). The song also provided a couple of awkward moments when a drunk woman apparently mistook Jeff's encouragement to sing along as an indication that she should come right up to the stage -- she probably would have tried to get on the stage if Jeff hadn't sort of waved her off
  10. I never know if it's just overkill to start an "After The Show" thread on a show that's been webcast since pretty much everybody who cares already listened to it. But in the interest of title conventions, if nothing else, here was the complete setlist as played for Concord (or is it Con-curd? Cahn-cud? ): "The Price Is Right" theme music intro— Wilco (the song) IATTBYH Ashes of American Flags Bull Black Nova You Are My Face One Wing A Shot in the Arm At Least That's What You Said Radio Cure Handshake Drugs Impossible Germany I'll Fight California Stars Poor Places> ----into acoustic set--
  11. Dare I ask the obvious: Hey Lou(ieB), I had NO idea you had a fest (especially one with such a good lineup!) Can I get a free ticket?
  12. Not a bad review, I guess. To nitpick the last few paragraphs, though, I assume he just accidentally left out the "Drummer" in "Heavy Metal Drummer," and it should have been "Outtasite (Outta Mind)" of course. And it's not really accurate to say they "concluded last night's show" with "Thank You Friends."
  13. Since this seems to have turned into the Jeff footwear thread, I figured I'd mention that he wasn't wearing the white Kenneth Coles last night in Boston. He was back to brown oxfords, at least for one night.
  14. The possibilities of who else could be involved in this are certainly tantalizing. Just to throw out one -- and I haven't checked their schedule or anything -- but Thurston and Kim don't live too far away. And obviously this is pure and complete speculation on my part, but Sean Lennon was just at one of the recent Montclair shows. I could see his The Ghost Of A Saber Toothed Tiger project fitting into this shindig as well.
  15. Thanks for coming over to the side of consistent thread titles! Re: your comment about photos, there were a couple of guys near me taking pictures -- and possibly videos -- with their phones. (Some nerve to do it right by the stage, right? I guess Jeff must not have seen them, or at least he didn't call them out or point at them). I think one of them got escorted out. In several other cases, a security guard shined a flashlight on them until they got the picture. So some security guards seemed to be pretty vigilant, or at least as much as possible. (I just realized I made a totally unint
  16. With all due respect to roadhse ma, I just can't in good conscience post the Boston setlist in a thread that egregiously titled. So maybe a kindly moderator can somehow merge our two threads... Anyway, in case the complete setlist was never posted in that webcast thread (or if anyone just wants an easier place to find it), here it is: —"The Price Is Right" theme music intro— Wilco (the song) Bull Black Nova You Are My Face IATTBYH> One Wing A Shot in the Arm One By One Either Way Company In My Back Sonny Feeling Handshake Drugs Impossible Germany It's Just That Simple California Sta
  17. I figured it wasn't worth posting a setlist since somebody probably already would have somewhere in this thread. (Though I guess it could be a little hard to find in this insanity!) But I guess I'll start a thread in After The Show with the complete setlist...
  18. I'll let someone else try to describe Mike's synth ode to the "Easter Bunny, but that organ solo during "California Stars" is pretty hilarious, especially when you're used to hearing the deep, rich tone of the Hammond. I guess it's some sort of pipe organ sample or something; the first time he used it, I think it even caught Jeff a little by surprise because he cracked up and sort of missed his cue to start singing again. As far as the Michael McDonald thing, it was just at the end of "Too Far Apart" when Jeff sings "Couldn't be any closer to you..." in that silly falsetto. In Providence, h
  19. Great to see you as well, sir! Glad you enjoyed the show, and I'll see you soon (I hope)... Not to respond to my own post, but just a couple of tidbits about the show... *Got a glance at the printed setlist and they changed up the "acoustic" set a bit from what was planned. The printed list indicated this for the acoustic portion: Spiders (Kidsmoke) What's The World Got In Store How To Fight Loneliness Forget The Flowers Country Disappeared Laminated Cat Passenger Side *I think my favorite moment in tonight's show might have been a tie between Pat's Michael McDonald imitation at th
  20. Setlist update (to the few who care): A taper friend of mine checked in with me and informed me that Hummingbird came after Broken Arrow. So I've updated the setlist I posted at the start of this thread and it should now be completely accurate. Once again, sorry for the screwup.
  21. Gracias! The title formatting is key! Several of you will be glad to know I didn't have any incidents on I-95 in Connecticut this time. Anyway, here you go...the complete setlist, as played, for the Providence show: —"The Price Is Right" theme music intro— Wilco (the song) Bull Black Nova You Are My Face IATTBYH> One Wing Radio Cure Sonny Feeling Summer Teeth> Misunderstood She's A Jar Handshake Drugs Impossible Germany California Stars Poor Places> ----into acoustic set---- Spiders (Kidsmoke) What's The World Got In Store War On War Forget The Flowers Heavy Metal Drummer Laminat
  22. I think it might actually have been 60 total because I screwed up and left one song off the Night One setlist: Hummingbird. So if your guys' math is correct, then you should probably go back and add 1. Sorry.
  23. Special to Tamala: The rainbow SG appeared for the entire encore in Montclair tonight (Night Two)!
  24. I know they did it once at the Residency (2-19-08, to be precise). Wilcobase also indicates that they did it at the 4-18-09 show at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville. Those are the only two times I can find before tonight's show. Other than Outta Mind (Outta Sight)/Outtasite (Outta Mind) thing, the setlist posted by Treece is accurate. He/she doesn't note the transitions, which is not a big deal. I just happen to love the Summer Teeth>Misunderstood (where the Summer Teeth 'oohs' extend on for a bit until Glenn starts into the drums for Misunderstood) that's happened a couple of times re
  25. Sorry about the Hummingbird omission, but thanks for the correction. I edited my setlist post. That's what happens when you're kind of tired and forgetful. Anyway, they definitely played Side With The Seeds. And I'm almost certain Hummingbird came in after I'm The Man Who Loves You. It was definitely later in the show, after the acoustic set. When one of the recordings comes out, we can verify.
