  1. Man that was fun! Excited for night 2. So great to see so many pals from so many places.
  2. Oh dear. I do not think so.
  3. Oh man, it bums me out to see so many people disappointed about the whole Karaoke thing... it’s not like it’s gonna be first 10 people to make it side stage go up and it’s a train wreck. They’re looking for people who are competent singers. They’ll rehearse and it will be great, I’m sure! 15-year-old me would be going positively nuclear about such an opportunity (and I mean 30-year-old me is kinda super stoked too). It’ll be alright, and I’m sure Jeff will sing too. It sounds like a really fun show. I am going to submit on both YouTube and Instagram. I hope to be picked, it’s our only sh
  4. He did. We were able to spend some time together earlier in the tour, and sang before a show. He was really impressed(which I still can’t believe.... just ) and asked if I wanted to do it on stage that night. I declined that night cos I was way too nervous, but I mentioned we were going to other shows too, and that Chattanooga was a hometown show(that I had been hoping for since I started listening to Wilco at 13), and he said we should definitely do it on stage. I was very nervous, but dang if Jeff believes in me I ought to believe in myself too. The day of the show in Chattanooga came an
  5. I found another small write up about the Chattanooga show from a local music blog. Completely shocked my appearance was mentioned. https://www.thesouthernsounding.com/features/concert-review-jeff-tweedy-with-james-elkington-at-the-walker-theatre-chattanooga-tn
  6. Right! Yeah, it was so special, and Jeff’s always been so kind. I’m still kinda floored he thought I had a good enough voice to be on stage.
  7. Thanks for all the nice words, y’all. It was a thrill and I feel very inspired by the fact Jeff seems to think as highly of me as I think of him. He’s always been so nice, and it means a lot to me he asked me to do that last night.
  8. I thought Jeff did a great job last night given the circumstances. I was sad he wasn’t feeling 100%, but really glad he felt well enough to play. Food poisoning is awful. Hopefully the day off today will give him a chance to really rest. The show was only the 2nd time Jeff’s been through Chattanooga I think. The first was in 1999 at the now-defunct club The Bay (I was 11 then, and a year out from discovering Wilco, so I missed it!) so it was pretty thrilling when this show got announced back in January. The Walker Theatre is a fairly recent renovation in the Memorial Auditorium complex. I t
  9. The book chat was in Decatur, not Savannah. I think the Savannah show was the show before the food poisoning set in.
  10. Jeff Tweedy, in addition to being the sweetest human being ever, is an astounding professional. Despite not feeling 100% because of food poisoning he put on a very nice show in Chattanooga tonight (I’m sure there will be a report later in After The Show). I know we don’t really share a lot of video around here, but I have to share this. Tonight I got to live a dream I’ve had since I was 13-years-old. I don’t really know what else to say besides I love Wilco and the community of people I have met as a result of them being around. Specifically all the people I’ve met as a result of this me

Is this to the tune of “Let’s go Rain”? Cos it sounds like it in my head. Also the bridge is the same.

That was a bust and I cried in the store. Really glad I got up at 5am to be elbowed by a grown man. Great time. I’m so sad.

I’m real nervous about being able to get a copy. Is 5000 a lot for a RSD pressing??
  14. Long time VC’er JHamm shot this. Also, it’s awesome.
  15. The sing-along was better at Grimey’s I think than the actual show. Grimey’s is such a great record store. I’ve learned a bunch about bands I wouldn’t otherwise have known just by visiting every time we’re in town. The folks that work there are so nice too, and I think they were just as thrilled Jeff came in as the rest of us. I was super excited he played my request. Also excited to finally know what the heck the open chords are in that song. I flipping LOVE that little silver guitar. It’s got so much personality. I think partially the theatre had something to do with it. At least where I
  16. The lady that yelled out “We love you” I think was trying to give me tinnitus. Jeepers.
  17. It thought it was a fun show. Worth the drive. I think some more “rare” Summerteeth gems might make their way out in the Florida run, perhaps.
  18. In for Macon, Asheville, Nashville, and Chattanooga. I am so ridiculously happy.
  19. I can't believe Jeff is coming to Chattanooga. When I was in high school I used to daydream that Wilco would come to my town, and a Jeff solo show is just as good. I can't believe it!
  20. so how does one get in on a LRS group, because damn I need to... the problem is not having enough money. I dont know how people can afford it. we save yearly just to get to a couple shows a tour.
