i am a HUGE neil fan, but i don't have his entire catalouge... however much i can appreciate his really weird stuff, i don't think i will ever be able to listen to it all the way through, same with the overtly crude frank zappa stuff.

Yeah, it was kinda a last minute thing, put on by these random people in a book store. There were probably only 5-6 people (out of the maybe 50-70 in attendance) who knew who the band was. It was really bizarre, but very cool. No shows right now, however, after the gig I was talking to Laurie and she said they usually use local bands to open their shows, and the next time they're in town she asked if i would be interested! I am trying to get a gig at a place on the North Shore called the River House in a few weeks, I'll let you know if it pans out. I lost my capo when I played in Athens,

it's a neat function, but i don't have a huge library so it gets repetitive. i am confused by party shuffle and have never really used it. is it just a random selection of songs ?

I caught Blue Mountain last night at Rock Point Books (yes, a book store) downtown. It was an interesting setting for some very awesome music. Blue Mountain played a few weeks ago at the live outdoor series we have, and it was just as good as last night's performance. They played two 45 minute sets, though I think the last one went a tad bit longer because they did a few more songs. I was very impressed, and Cary Hudson is pretty much my hero. That guy can play some awesome guitar!! Here are the songs I can remember them playing: Wink Jimmy Carter Blue Canoe Bloody 98 Myrna Lee Soul

I was 13, and my history teacher had some Wilco CD's that he would play us in class. I liked the record cover of AM so he let me borrow that, Being There, Uncle Tupelo's Anodyne and Son Volt's Straight Ways. I spent that weekend (it was a Friday in March), making tapes of the CD's and then for my 14th birthday my mom bought me all those CDs plus Summerteeth. I heard YHF for the first time in the winter of 02 via a nice person on the postcard list, and i remember loving Jesus Etc at first because the "fiddle" sound was so different. This was before my major calssical training. Bought the

Yeah the dude is an asshole anyway. Not going to associate myself with him anymore anyway, and his days are pretty much numbered in the band he is in now. At least Chris wants me to open for them again sometime.

Not well. First of all, the weekend before the speakers of the place got blown, but the contiuned to use them anyway. Then, because of that, my guitar couldn't be heard. So, I ended up playing on the guitar one of the guys in my friend's band doesn't use. The 1st 2 songs went GREAT. i was rocking, and people liked it. I settled into a nice grove by the 3rd song, and outta nowhere here comes the guitar player in the band i was opening up for. He grabs MY acoustic and sits on a stool behind me and starts playing along. At first i thought he might be tuning his guitar based on mine or something,

yeah, i think my problem can sometimes be talking too much in between songs! the music is going. since i got my macbook i have written about 6 songs, some of them alright, some of them not so good. i'll try and put some of the new stuff up on that music myspace thing soon... if anybody is interested to hear my sound my myspace music page is www.myspace.com/sarahchastain17 the demos on there are super rough and not that great. most were done 2 years ago before i started voice lessons. i am so much better now... thanks for all the advice and well wishes. i wish we had a camcorder to

Hey guys, So I finally landed a gig in a bar! I am opening for my friends Chris McKay and the Critical Darlings on August 22nd at the Rye Bar in Athens Georgia. Does anybody know fun things to do in Athens? Anybody live in the area and wanna come out to the show?? It should be fun. Sarah PS- Any advice on playing in an actual bar? (I'm guessing it will be a bit different than playing in a pizza place)

the bad thing is that your ipod was set to sync. when you plug it in to your fixed computer and open itunes it will erase your music in all probability... that happened to my sister's ipod twice, then we learned to set it to manual. if you can plug your ipod in without it automatically syncing you should be able to go into it (assuming your ipod is set up for disk use) like a normal hard drive. there is a set of folders that are hidden which is where your music is. you might have to click around a bit. i can't remember what they're called right now. so if you know how to open the hidden folder
