  1. I realized this morning as I was driving down to Charlottesville that I somehow confused ELO for T. Rex. Whoops.
  2. You can't tell the story of music without mentioning Dr. John or Johnny Cougar?
  3. Any band that has a hit song with the line "Don't bring me down - gross!" is a mopey band. Jeff Lynne's perm should be in the HOF though.
  4. I found Simple Men on Netflix not too long ago.
  5. I suppose you could say that's where you drew the line?
  6. He's now checked himself into rehab.
  7. Are we talking about Robert Urich or Jeff Tweedy's kid?
  8. That documentary was filmed in 1971. Roy Buchanan was born in late 1939. He is the oldest-looking 31/32 year old I've ever seen.
  9. Three posts to butt hurt. Not a record, but close.

  14. What about either of those quotes is condescending to Jules's employees?
  15. How the hell do you get that from Jules's statement?
  16. It's all well and good to say that the song means what you want it to mean, as long as you want the song to be about drugs, which it is.
  17. Occam's razor, buddy. No need to put yourself through the mental gymnastics. The guy (and I'm referencing the speaker in the song, of course, not JT himself) enjoyed pulling some tubes. I'm surprised he didn't figure out a way to work "grip it and rip it" in there. Certainly no problem here with a song about pot, but I'm a little more concerned with the not-so-subtle reference to recruiting others (climb aboard) to inject drugs (tracks of a train's arm) and float away. Leave the heroin songs to Son Volt, dude.
  18. It's pretty clear that the song explores the singer's dependence on marijuana. If you can't figure out what means, I don't know what to tell you.
