they've been doing that for a while. its a good prevention method. just don't click refresh a million times. use the back button and then go back in every 10 or 20 seconds and you'll be fine.

Questions about flying on airplanes
alison the wilca replied to SarahC's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
and i agree about the jacket. chances are, you'll get all hot running around the airport and lifting luggage, etc. however, its a different story once you're on the plane. i was once on a plane like lysistrata... FREEZING. seriously, it felt like i was outside in winter for 4 hours. and there were only a couple blankets that had already been snatched up. it was horrible and there was some kind of problem where they couldn't get the plane any warmer. so, yeah, layers. -
ugh. thats why i take the stairs... our elevators in our new building are often down and make strange noises. no thanks!

the foellinger is very intimate and the ui champaign/urbana campus is pretty in the fall. i would go to that one if i could.

ive been interested in doing this for a while, but i'm afraid of wasting too much for the money i would be spending. its nice to hear that people have had good experiences, though... i'll keep thinking about it

i think eddie may have put you on the list. -
aussies must pay a steep premium because of travel expenses... yikes, $75 is a lot!
-
i thnk it is only $45 because it is for charity. $45 is quite unusual and a lot for Wilco. Not that they aren't worth it, but I don't recall them playing for much more than that before besides the vic charity show. Thankful that it is only 45 bucks? really? i would be thankful if they went back to $20 bucks a show. then I could afford to see them.

Top Ten Things To Send To College With My Daughter
alison the wilca replied to trestle's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
my dorm in college had decent carpet, so a rug might not be necessary depending on the dorm. i always had a string of white christmas lights around my room because the overhead lights in the room might be too harsh. it just made it more homey. i had a pocket pepper spray... couldn't hurt but they can be bulky so i never really had it handy. i wish that i had had a nalgene bottle in college to carry water around in. there are backpacks that have spots for the bottle to fit in, which is cool. -
i am thinking about ann arbor... i just wish gas wasn't so darned expensive. but, the fall colors will be peeping through and it will be a pretty drive from chicago.
-
gosh that rate sounds way too high. i just bought my flight from chicago to san diego for $218 r/t. But, i guess it has to be that way flying out of a small airport.

Anyone from San Diego?
alison the wilca replied to Serak_the_Preparer's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
oceanside is big. there are good and bad parts. I have friends that live there and i was born there. there are sketchy areas but certainly nice places too. you just have to know where to go. cardiff by the sea is $$$$$. its right next to del mar and is not a place a middle inclome person can live, most likely. it sure is pretty, though. -
Anyone from San Diego?
alison the wilca replied to Serak_the_Preparer's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
i was born and raised san diego and lived there for 23 years. rent and home prices are insane. good neighborhoods? i would stay away from most areas in the south county, they are either too hot or dangerous. from what i can tell, though, el cajon would be give better rental prices, is fairly close to the city and is an okay area. i am from north county- san marcos- where you can find decent neighborhoods as well... san marcos is undergoing a revival and is a nice place to live, escondido, oceanside, vista all have skethcy areas but also have nice middle income neighborhoods. of course t -

heres the thread about live earth. this is just in case you want to go back and read it. I don't want anyone getting pissed that i pointed out there was a previous discussion on the subject. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?sho...c=26874&hl=

i like that song
-
the dvd is of the cardinals playing 3 songs (tears of gold; oh my god whatever etc; pearls on a string) in a big room with lots of christmas lights.

how about the man that murdered his pregnant girlfriend, or the husband that recently shot his wife and three kids? most people that knew them thought they were generally decent. there are psychopaths among us that appear completely normal, even loving.
-
oh good! then i was the first
-
i thought maybe jane and her husband were... now that i'm thinking of it, though, i think they met outside vc but were both members. I can't remember.
-
It is somewhat common. My husband and I met here. I think we were maybe the 2nd VC couple to get married 3 years ago? There have been others since.

i found 10 remaining wilca pins. if you look closely, on the side, it says coldwarkids.com on it. matt from the cwk made these before the cwk band even existed (that was the name he used for his webpage/art stuff).

i still have a little baggie of buttons. I will send some to you if you PM me your new address

i would choose ryan, actually, if I had to make that decision...
