  3. what is the what is a wonderful (and horrifying) first hand view of growing up sudanese in the time of the civil war. i highly recommend it.

  7. i was thinking of brining a turkey this year (i'm not, i'm doing jennie-o oven ready turkey!!) but you can buy them pre-brined at certain stores. I heard Trader Joes had them.

  9. the thing about bono is that he really cares. and all that stuff int he interview is coming from a guy who never graduated high school (i don't think... or maybe it was one of the others). pretty impressive how hes educated himself in order to make a difference.

  12. that makes sense. I know that in the AM JACKFM had this really annoying girl that would come on and talk about traffic "Jack-ups." Maybe I can start listening now.. I almost always do radio on my drive to work.
  13. when i was 14, green day ruled my world. I listened to Dookie every night on my walkman all the way through once or twice. i still love kerplunk and 39/smooth... Dry Ice is one of my faves.
  14. i thought the thing about JACKFM was that there was no people on it so it was music all the time. weird.
  15. yeah, new mexico. i love that he is trying to work for results in darfur and for the environment when i haven't heard anyone else mention that kind of thing.

  17. i live in a pretty nice neighborhood- Bucktown- and my rent is only $1050 for a vintage 2 bedroom, which includes all utilities and free laundry. Bucktown is close to the blue line which takes you downtown, too. If you've got $500 and a roommate, you should be able to find something in a decent area.

  20. Bushwhacked. If you have seen it, you know it is beyond awful. Except I walked out of my bedroom, not a theater. My brother and sister were somehow enjoying the inane storyline.
