lamradio
As i don't have an opinion on this particular pedal, I do have a EHX Double Muff which sounds great, but is big, and as I only ever use the single muff setting on it, i thought i might downsize to the nano muff. according to EHX lit it is exactly the same circuit, and so it should sound the same. However, when i plugged it in in the shop it sounded like crap. I seem to remember having heard similar stories about the nano stone. so i would be wary of anything nano- try it thoroughly in the shop first and let your ears decide. Thanks onan. I wouldn't know the difference because I've never played out of the original Holy Grail, but I'm very happy with the Nano Holy Grail so far. The only thing that's taking a while to get used to is it's hard to find a happy medium. It's either a little bit of reverb, or A LOT of reverb. But I'm sure I'll get the hang of it after while. Moss
My Digitech delay pedal that I have been using since the 80's died at a gig yesterday. Since I have not shopped for a delay pedal in 2 decades, anybody have a recommendation? Quality is the first consideration (over cost) because there is nothing worse than a cheap sounding delay. Preferably a pedal and not a rack mount, maybe something that could store a few different settings.

Moss
Line 6 DL4 16 delays,3 programable, true bypass, tap tempo,14 seconds loop. I checked one of these out yesterday. Might be more than I'm looking for but the price is not bad. Have not had a chance to play through one yet to see how good the modeling is.

It's a pretty simple delay pedal, level, feedback time, delay time, etc., but you can also get some crazy sounds out of it with the mode functions. Plus it's Boss so it'll last forever.. I've spilt beer on mine more than once..

I was so close to getting the Boss DD-7, then this good looking guitar store lady told me she hates the Boss delay's and tried to talk me into the Line 6 or teh MXR Analog delay. Screw it, I'm getting the Boss. Like you said, they are rugged little boxes and judging from your record you have an ear for guitar tone so if it works for you it's good enough for me. Now I just have to find out when the clerk is not working...

I have that one. It's pretty awesome, but it's probably not a good choice if you want the features that a digital delay offers.

Now I just have to find out when the clerk is not working... Good choice. Plus the DD-7 has that reverse function which is VERY cool. Our other guitarist uses the Boss RE-20 Space Echo. It's more of a reverb pedal than delay, but it has the "tape flutter" function. You can play a note, hold down the expression pedal, and it will sound like the note is being played fastforward.. Cool stuff.
petemoss
I have the Mxr carbon copy.It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a digital delay, but you will not find a digital delay that sounds this good.It is so warm. I can get amazing 'classic rock' leads with this pedal.
PopTodd
1988 Squire Strat (tweaked 9 ways to Sunday):through a 1997 Peavey Delta Blues 1 x 15"My only "effect" is a TurboRAT that I use for solos:So, so, so nasty-sounding. My acoustic is a 1993 Epiphone EO-1 And I just picked up a cheap Regal wood-body resonator guitar:
Moss
I plan to get a resonator someday. I'm waiting for my "sitting on the porch playing the blues" years for that.
lamradio
I plan to get a resonator someday. I'm waiting for my "sitting on the porch playing the blues" years for that. Haha yeah, same here. A friend of mine has one. Sometimes when we're just jamming acoustically, he'll break it out.. It completely drowns out everyone else.. That thing is loud!
PopTodd
Haha yeah, same here. A friend of mine has one. Sometimes when we're just jamming acoustically, he'll break it out.. It completely drowns out everyone else.. That thing is loud! Yeah, it is loud! But I only play it occasionally. It helps, when I'm in a musical rut, to pick up a different instrument. And, if that instrument sounds as different as a resonator does, that just adds to the inspiration. Also, I did record with it already... on a fluke. The song is a pretty straight-up indie pop song (kinda), and I had this big, fat Weezer distortion thing happening. I wanted to come out of it with a guitar hook, and decided to play that hook on the resonator. Good choice. It's good to have that option.

lost highway
My main guitar rig is an eighties SG with a Seymour Duncan JB pickup in the bridge position. I run that through a Fulltone Fulldrive 2, a Keeley Fuzzhead and half a dozen other dorky boxes, somehow it finds its way to my Traynor YBA-3 head which I play through an Avatar 2x12 cabinet. If any of you guys play through heads instead of combos and wants a cabinet check out Avatar. They build stuff on a par with Orange for about a third of the price. TCP
Just got this last week. Most of my instruments have been on the lower side of the pricing structure due to being a student. Now I'm all grown up and have money to spend, on guitars!!! Presenting my Gretsch Synchromatic...... And yes, I am aware that I need a hair cut.
Moss
Nice looking guitar! Sound like you are gainfully employed so apparently there is no need for a haircut.
BigWheeledWagon
This really belongs in a "What gear do you currently want" because I don't own it but I do want it: Wow, I think that might violate VC's rules against posting porn, because that's some serious amp-porn right there. I would love to get hold of a Swart Atomic Space Tone myself, but man are they expensive.
cooperissup3r
i've been looking for one of these for about 2 years...finally found one. wow. ps - this is a 1955 Silvertone S1320.
