Gamecocks
AWATT, I'm guessing you would respond well to Cold Roses. I think any NOOB should start with Heartbreaker... It's usually a pretty good cd to hook you to RA. But you could also go ahead and start with the 48hours yousendit link provided a few pages back... I LOVE 48 HOURS... HALLELUJAH, WALLS, ANGELINA, KARINA.... Man oh man, those are some great songs. The linked "Destroyer" w/ Gillian Welch and David Rawlings is also really good
Jimbo Jones
I have a couple of questions about the Heartbreaker demos. What is the setlist? Also, is there a problem with the posted link? I can't get it to download.
cryptique
I think I should begin listening...where to start?I would actually get someone started on Whiskeytown first, but that's just me.
Boots
I have a couple of questions about the Heartbreaker demos. What is the setlist? Also, is there a problem with the posted link? I can't get it to download. I just double checked the link and it appeared to be working for me still. Here is the setlist I have for it: Track listing: 1. In my Time of Need 2. Bar Lights 3. Win 4. All I wanted 5. Out of Time 6. Sit & Listen to the Rain 7. Nights Lights 8. Probably gonna happen 9. West NY Serenade 10. Lil Girls 11. In the world 12. Medicine 13. Dial Tone 14. Don't wanna know why 15. Easy Hearts
a.miller
I would actually get someone started on Whiskeytown first, but that's just me.Yes. AWATT, you should definately get Strangers Almanac. Superb, minus "Losering" and "Waiting to Derail" IMO.edit: Cold Roses is awesome, and it wouldn't be a bad place to start
dennis
there is a new ryan track streaming on his website. www.ryan-adams.com pretty good, i'd like to hear it in the context of an album. i bet it will end up as a b-side. d
mjpuczko
hmmm...i like it.
tkleist
I like it musically, but his voice sounds horrible. That maybe the worst singing i have ever heard him do. Something just sounds really off about it.
isavedlatin
I like it, I like how his voice sounds different all the time. The track sounds like if Cold Roses and Rock N Roll had a baby.
a.miller
It's pretty cool. It sounds like no other Ryan Adams material that I've heard. I wonder if his next batch of songs are all gonna be like this. Totally different to my ears.
Welsh Rich
there is a new ryan track streaming on his website. www.ryan-adams.com pretty good, i'd like to hear it in the context of an album. i bet it will end up as a b-side. d Finally got this to work this afternoon... it's good, like it - nice and upbeat and his voice sounds relaxed and not as strained as it does on Rock N Roll... explodo
The track sounds like if Cold Roses and Rock N Roll had a baby.Perfect description. Not a huge fan of Cold Roses, but loved Rock n' Roll (yeah) so this song sounds wonderful to me, although the production sounds bit off or rough or something.
Boots
Anyone able to get an MP3 of this off the stream? I know Let it Ride turned up when it was streaming. Edited August 2, 2006 by Boots
Gamecocks
I must say that I like that... It sounds kinda popish, sortof a mix of "The Police" and "Steve Miller Band".Anybody know how to rip this and yousendit? Here are the lyrics btw.... So glad that you found someone Someone and so fast It's time to let go of someone and put it to rest And I don't feel sorry for you Not sorry at all No I don't feel sorry for him or for her My world is gonna revolve It's gonna keep spinning around me doll The world where no-one belongs to her and you're the one she thinks she wants It's true, she's lovely in blue So now that it's underground and they're talking too fast whatever they're talking about, it's not me, It's all in the past And I don't feel sorry for you I'm not sorry at all No I don't feel sorry in fact just the opposite My world is gonna revolve It's gonna keep spinning around me The world where no-one belongs to her and you're the one she wants My world My world is gonna revolve It's gonna to keep spinning round me doll the world where no-one belongs to her and you're the one she thinks she wants she thinks she wants the world, the world she thinks she wants and it's hers and you'll never get through oh god it's so true it's true, it's true, she so lovely in blue Edited August 2, 2006 by Gamecocks
solace
i like it... loved JCN & Cold Roses, but i'm all for a bit of Rock again from Ryan... the vocals sound a bit rough and high in the mix, hoping it's unmastered
brianjeremy
I like the song, although I do have issues with his vocals as well.
thisyearsgirl
i liked it...a lot. seeing him tomorrow night in indy for the first time!
a.miller
On second listening it sounds like a cross between the Killers and the Special Goodness....
awatt
In the cd store I had Ryan Adams' Cold Roses in one hand and GS new one in the other. I went with GS and got the poster.
