MrRain422
Wow, the Tigers bats sure woke up tonight. I sure wish they would spread it out over a few games instead though. Still, a badly needed win, especially since it looks like the Twins are going to lose tonight.
bobbob1313
Gutsy performance by Taylor Tankersly coming in and closing the door on the Braves in a must win.
MrRain422
Okay, so maybe the Twins aren't going to lose...

Duck-Billed Catechist
White Sox lose (blame Ozzie). Good day for the Tigers.
Edie
My brother thinks the White Sox will lose this year because of letting Thomas go and trading Rowand for Thome. He says "how can you NOT have room on your club for a hall-of-famer" and the loss of speed up the middle (Rowand) will eventually kill their chances. I hate it when my brother is right. Duck-Billed Catechist
No, your brother's statement still doesn't make any sense. It's well-known that Frank does throw a good knuckler, but I don't think he would've made the White Sox pitching any better. Â Additionally, Rowand is still slower than Brian Anderson. bobbob1313
I thought the Marlins were done with the stupid, game blowing defensive mind lapses, but I guess now. How do you score 4 in the top of the 10th only to lose by giving up 5? Unbelievable(!!).
Duck-Billed Catechist
The baseball gods intervened for the White Sox in the first inning of the game. I hope it has some inspirational effect.
jenbobblehead
the red sox, who have been swept by the royals, managed to beat the yankees three out of four games at Yankee stadium. Â nutty.
Duck-Billed Catechist
The White Sox are in their death throes. Hopefully the ninth inning marks a transition for 2007. Josh Fields hit a homerun in his first major league at-bat. Scott Podsednik hit a grounder up the middle and dogged it going to first. Fields should be patrolling LF next year if he can hack it in winter ball.
MrRain422
Congratulations to Neifi Perez for bringing his batting average since joining the Tigers up over .200.

Nobody Girl
That Dodgers-Padres game was crazy. The Dodgers hit four consecutive homers to tie it in the bottom of the ninth, but the Padres went ahead in the 10th. Then Nomar won it with a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th. Games like that make me love baseball even more.
Oil Can Boyd
the red sox, who have been swept by the royals, managed to beat the yankees three out of four games at Yankee stadium. I know; it is pretty frustrating. It has also been a while since Sox/Yankees games in September mattered so little. Coverage of the sweep on Sunday was on page 2 of the Boston Globe sports section on Monday (with the Patriots and NASCAR on page 1).
paul137
Tigers playoff tickets went on sale today (unfortunatly a little premature) hopefully i'll get to use mine. Edited September 19, 2006 by paulgermain
bobbob1313
I apparently jinxed the Marlins by asking when playoff tickets go on sale on their message board.

MrRain422
I'm actually not sure which game(s) I'm going to. Going with someone who had season tickets, and split the season ticket holder playoff package with someone else.

caliber66
Shit, negro, I've already heard him on WEEI. He sounded pretty damn good, if a little tentative. Spent a lot of time thanking the lady who saw him pull over, stopped and called 911, as well as the rescue/medical personnel at all stages of his recovery. Said his wife knew he was going to be fine when she came in one day and he asked her "How the hell did [pitcher] end up on [team]?" It would probably be more poignant if I could remember the player and team involved, but you get the idea.
