Duck-Billed Catechist
I think the A's will look ok in the playoffs. I could be crazy.
EL the Famous
notice the silence of the St L fans on here as they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? dude, nothing would save this horrendous season for me more than both the sox AND cards being out of the postseason. Big Perm
YAY!! A-man (No perm, you've got the wrong person) Hey Jorge (Good, much better), The A's are my american team, I've seen them live, true story. I meant Jorge, everytime I glance at his thingdingy I think a-man, but I know deep in his heart G understands my disability and writes to me twice a week.

parisisstale
the Yanks own the Twins & A's Yup. But the Twins still scare me more than the Tigers.
tongue-tied lightning
Tigers are a very young team, that could work against them
EL the Famous
Does A-man know about this thread? if a thread like this popped up on the sabbath board, ozzy osbourne would personally come to each and every poster's houses and bite their heads off.

bobbob1313
IF Rich Harden is at full health right now (can't really tell since he's been on a strict pitch count), then it's hard to pick against the A's, as they'll have the best one-two punch in the entire playoffs with him and Zito. Of course, Johan paired with a league average pitcher is almost as good as Harden and Zito, so it's tough. I'm going to pick the Twins to make it to the WS, though. They've got a scary team. MrRain422
The Yankees have looked pretty unstoppable several times in the last few years. I'm not saying that they won't win, I'm just saying that it's a long way from being a foregone conclusion. Their line up is stellar without question, but they do have the worst pitching of any of the A.L. playoff teams. Plus, well, in a short series anything can happen.
tongue-tied lightning
yeah, anything can happen, and it usually does to the A's & Twins. The Yanks just always seem to always find a way against those teams. do I dare say the word choke ?
MrRain422
Well, if the Yanks start off against Minnesota...well, they'll face Johan twice. In a 5 game series. If the Twins win both those (which, of course, is not guaranteed, but Johan is as close to a guarantee as there is out there today), then they'd only have to steal one more. Sir Stewart
I want the Yankees to lose in the World Series. To the Mets. Nevermind how unlikely that is, what's really bothering me is that...I guess I'm rooting for the Yankees in their Division Series.
parisisstale
If the Yanks lost Game 1 to the Twins, then I agree that it could go 5 and they'd be in trouble. I'm banking on them getting that first one (they've beaten him in the playoffs before, and he's far from unhittable).
