rghammo
If I had to say, I guess the 80's represents the smallest fraction of my music collection. Three of the guys went on to form Slint and one who didn't (David Grubbs) went on to form Gastr del Sol.

rghammo
The Cure- Faith, Pornography, 17 Seconds, Japanese WhispersBTW I think Disintegration was 1990? No? AMG and Amazon have it listed as "Original Release Date: May 2, 1989." All the Cure you mention are excellent too but I think Disintegration is my favorite of theirs. Lammycat
Some good ones already mentioned, but... I've never been a big heavy metal fan, particularly the 80s hair/glam-rock horseshit, but no list is complete without one of the best albums of the decade: Appetite for Destruction. For me, I recall U2's Joshua Tree, The Meat Puppets' Up On The Sun, and the Pixies' Surfer Rosa as great albums of the 80s, too.
