We just got home from the show. it ran about two hours-I think they played a little bit longer last night, but it was a really good show-the best we've seen at the Auditorium. The Auditorium Theater has church services on Sunday mornings, so I think that might be why they had to end early. I don't know. I didn't write down the set list but here is what I remember in no particular order... I think I'm missing a few, too. Highlights for me were She's a Jar and Forget the Flowers. Jeff said that they didn't know when they'd be playing live together again and that usually they have something planned but they don't right now. We had great seats on the floor (thanks to Skyflynn-THANK YOU!) and the crowd energy was high. Glenn did an amazing drum solo at the end of one of the new songs. WOW. He also sat in with Caifone. Sorry we missed you Dixie Cup Drinker! Hope you guys had a safe trip back to Michigan...

a couple of the new songs were:

shake it off (I think thats what it's called)

lets not get carried away

side with the seeds (I'm not positive about that name at all, but thats what it sounded like to me when he said the name of it)

highlights for me were radio cure, poor places, she's a jar, side with the seeds and passenger side

I was a little surprised that they played a shorter set than on friday (this show didn't clock 2 hours), but Jeff said they had a reason and that he was sorry

maybe if that bunny didn't go on and waste 10 minutes again they could have gotten in more songs, but it was still a great show all around, and I'm not disappointed in the 2 shows at all

Another great show, although it was a bit shorter than last night. Sorry did not get to hear Kidsmoke, but can't complain too much. Ashes of American Flags was fantastic as was Theologians...

We'll have to wait til 2007 for another Wilco set list...

I haven't seen them have that much energy since the Vic shows. They were really loose tonight, and it showed! I havent seen an Auditorium show that good since 2003. Yeah, I was a little disappointed about the set length, but still, the energy was higher than I've seen it in a long time. I LOVED "She's a Jar", and the new songs, while I have heard some of them live before, really are taking advantage of having 3 guitarists (talented ones, at that).

P.S. I was in Row Z of the Pit, and behind me was this drunk couple. When Jeff said he didn't know when they would be playing next, the lady started to cry. Sad? You decide...

A great performance, although we sat way too far away for it to be all it coulda been. The drum solo was awesome, though, as was most of the performance.

Unfortunately, my two favorite live songs weren't played. Muzzle of Bees I can understand, but why didn't they play Via Chicago?

:(

If they had repeated another song it would have almost been a feat. They even had repeats in sequence, which I thought was cute :)

All in all, a good show, but there was really nothing out of the ordinary - even the spots where they usually freak out a bit were cut a bit short (especially Handshake) ... Ashes of American Flags was great - even Tweedy commented on it.

They played both of these on Friday. Seems they just wanted to mix it up a bit from one night to the next, maybe assuming many people attended both nights. I'm a little surprised Misunderstood didn't make it either night. However, She's A Jar, Forget the Flowers, Ashes & Passenger Side? Very nice.

These will be a nice couple shows to have on CD. Looks like about 32 different songs over the 2 nights (don't quote me on that, just a quick count).

Thanks to Rich, (tv200), I was in the 4th row of the pit. Last night's show was so much fun; the band seemed sooo into it and happy. Jeff appeared to me to be a bit tight early on with the banter (not musically) but even that loosened up considerably as the show went on.

I loved the new material; last night was the first time that I really enjoyed Impossible Germany after seeing it 4 times or so live. Guess the 4th time was the charm. The new song from last night (Shake it Off) was also much better in the middle of the set list as opposed to an opener as it was Friday (a bold move to be sure, but for me not nearly as effective). LNGCA has quickly become a fan favorite; people really seem to universally love it (and Walken too). The newest song (Side with Seeds?) was a little quirky and will require a few more listens for me.

Of the older material, Ashes was a huge highlight, as was Radio Cure (opener!!!1!!!). I always love HMD and Jeff was actually grinning during it (I think it was HMD). Late Greats was rocking and Kingpin was really fun.

It was great to hear them vary the material and not repeat some of the older stuff. Here's played/not played (from memory -- correct if I'm wrong).

From Friday not repeated Saturday:

Hell is Chrome

Sunken Treasure

War on War

Muzzle of Bees

Via Chicago

Mountain Bed

Company in My Back

California Stars

In a Future Age

From Saturday not played Friday:

Poor Places

She's a Jar

Ashes of American Flags

Forget the Flowers

Passenger side

Radio Cure

So if you were lucky enough to go both nights, you got quite a tour of the Wilco catalog.

Anyway, as usual, hanging out with the peeps was just the best, as was the after show dinner at Miller's. Warner, can't WAIT to get these shows (put them at the top of your backlog list please :lol

Edie

PS. After Bob Bruno played each night, there was an old song played from the 40s that was sooo familiar -- on Friday Jake and I looked at each other with that look of strong recognition and neither of us could place it. I have now realized that it was from the movie "Dumbo"... mystery solved!

Well, there definitely was a new song played right before "Forget the Flowers". But you're right, I'm not sure if that explanation was for the previous song or just part of the joke.

I thought they did a nice job of mixing everything up over the two nights. A very solid pair of shows, and it was good to see everyone. :)

Wilco was awesome! It was first time seeing them live. Now it's between Wilco and Beck for best live shows I've seen. Anyway, I thought that "Radio Cure" was breathtakingly beautiful. The lady in front of me fell asleep during it. Speaking of which, our seats were terrible. We were in the first balcony, row T, and we were right behind a column, so I couldn't see Jeff Tweedy very well. I had to lean to the right or left to see him. Whatever. Next Wilco show I'm going to order tickets at the start of the presale on Ticketmaster, rather than 2 hours later.

Other highlights: "Jesus, Etc.", "Heavy Metal Drummer", "Hummingbird", "Theologians", "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart", "Passenger Side", "Handshake Drugs".

Anyone have a recording of the show that they'd like to share?

Side of the Seeds is a new song. When Jeff said "This is a new song," he was referring to Forget the Flowers jokingly.

It was indeed a new song, and an amazing one at that. Had a lot of soul in the verses, chorus's were a little funky, great debut. I can't wait to hear more of it.

yeah, I think that new 'Seeds' song was one of the highlights of the set. The instrumental breaks were amazing. I think it sounded a little unfinished, though, I think. it just went verse --> break --> verse --> break / end. I think they need to stretch it out a bit more or something, but it was great nonetheless. I think this was the first time that song was played, no?
