viatroy
If you feel like singing a songAnd you want other people to sing alongJust sing what you feelDon
Lammycat
I second viatroy. I don't get the criticisms that it's cheesey (at least lyrically). I find it uplifting. Maybe I'm a sap like that. Although some of the lyrics do seem a bit juvenile/forced I suppose....

tyrone slothrop
"maybe the sun will shi-ine!" "hate you, hate you hanging 'round my blue jeans" the way he pronounces "germany," with the emphasis on the final syllable
You Can Be The Stone
A hearty second for "Maybeeee the sun will SHIIIINE tuh-Day!"
yermom
A third for "Maybeeee the sun will SHIIIINE tuh-Day!"and all of You Are My Face and What Light and gee...there really are a lot of good vocal moments to pick from! I love this album!!!
bobbob1313
I think this is by far his best vocal album. Regardless of the criticisms on the music being bland or lyrically trite (which I don't agree with), his voice is just great here.
Calexico
I think this is by far his best vocal album. Regardless of the criticisms on the music being bland or lyrically trite (which I don't agree with), his voice is just great here. I agree. He sounds relaxed and at ease with himself and obviously the trouble with pills, smoking and the rest have been laid aside and he sounds all the better for it.

quarter23cd
I like the way he sings the word "occupied" during Hate It Here. Its subtle, but there's something cool about it.
you ever seen a ghost?
totally agree with the "You Are My Face" verse. also: "the streetlights' glow/comes and goes/the sun comes back/as we all can plainly see" from "Side With The Seeds" "i'm this apple/this ha-a-a-penning stone" from "Be Patient With Me" "like giaaannnt beast with many souls" from "Shake It Off" any time he says the word "honestly" in "Leave Me (Like You Found Me)" -justin

Wilco LP #7
the entirety of on and on and on, which seems to be the most underappreciated song in the history of this message board.
yermom
the entirety of on and on and on, which seems to be the most underappreciated song in the history of this message board. On and On and On is considered under special circumstances for me because I only listen to Sky Blue Sky on tape (in my car...which is a lot) and I made the tape in a rush so that On and On is at the very end of one side but it's cut short so I flip the tape over and listen to the whole song on side two and then I have to fast forward through the rest of that side to start over again...maybe I 'll just bring the tape in to the house and record so that the album restarts on side two after On and On. Anyhow, even under these special circumstances I think the song is great. I'm especially fond of this bit: Please don
