Elixir Sue
Two record stores near me each have a pretty big vinyl selection, including 45s....and I live in Kentucky, so I'm guessing bigger cities have a decent selection. Places like Virgin Megastore and Tower Records sell vinyl, too.

Elixir Sue
Yes, some do.
socbret
You are telling me that major label bands release new singles on vinyl 45's?I'm gonna have to agree with you that you don't exactly see new 45's anymore, not many that is. Great song, where would you guys put it in the sequence if it was in SBS? Personally I think it would be nice after Hate it Here if anywhere, SBS is so well sequenced though, so maybe that's a dumb question.

It would be interesting to know how many vinyl pressing plants there are in this country - not many, would be my guess. I don't think I have seen an actual vinyl 45 in a record store since the mid 1980s.
mountain bed
I don't think I have seen an actual vinyl 45 in a record store since the mid 1980s.The last 45 I bought when it was actually released: Bohemian Rhapsody. Now I feel old (again) .

Analogman
I don't think I bought many 45s back in the day - I still have them - mostly, they were given to me. For example, Satisfaction/The Under Assistant West Coast Promo Man - given to me by a neighbor when I was 12 years old. I have never bought a 7 inch or whatever it is called - I suppose where I come from we were interested in the whole album type of deal. I don't recall anyone getting worked up over B-sides or non-album tracks. Probably, just the way things were. Of course, with the advent of re-issues, I am now of course, interested in b-sides and non-album tracks and whatnot. This falls into the category of the type of thing I will take from the internet if I want the track - as opposed to trying to buy such things. Also - there are no record stores here where I live - unless you count Best Buy or whatever. I buy cds in what is really a college student convenience store - which actually quit buying cds a few months ago - until just last week.

bucknaked
Nice song. I could really see this closing the album. Not that I don't like On & On & On, but I like this better.

It's funny you should ask because this very same question was posed today on another message board I frequent. Here's the answer: http://www.aardvarkmastering.com/pressing.htm
southern hotel foxtrot
Does anyone have a file of Lets not get carried away? I havent heard that one yet.
boredintheusa
WOW! What a great tune!! It gets better and better the more i listen, i would have liked this to be on the new album, but oh well. By the Way, Hi everyone my name is Joel.
yermom
Thanks for the links!!I like the song just fine but I think I prefer it to be not on the album. I think I'd end up skipping it sometimes and I never ever do that with Wilco.
HighFives
this'll be cool to hear live if they drop it. Which I'm sure they will.
you ever seen a ghost?
yeah, i like it, but i can see why they dropped it. on a semi-related note, i think LNGCA, Let's Fight and ITTTIG all could have been on the record. -justin

"Let's Fight" was probably too much of a bummer... and I think "Hate it Here" probably filled "The Thanks I Get"'s niche.
TheMaker
This is a really, really beautiful piece of music. "Venus Stopped the Train," you officially have competition in the realm of "favourite Wilco piano song." Huge thanks to the uploader/linker.
Scott Gyrrr
It's a great song, but it sounds just like a minor key melody of side with the seeds to me. It bodes well for the next album that this is only a bonus track.
