TCP
Please don't be a white guy. Please don't be a white guy. .....It'll probably be Kris Marshall though.Personally, my vote goes to Hayley Atwell. Doesn't help that I have a big old crush on her either.

TCP
http://youtu.be/_-_bSdWEYK8She was great in Broadchurch and Attack the Block. This is very, very, good news. Also, I'm currently having a laugh at all the sexists on Twitter freaking out. Good stuff!

KevinG
I figure. I have never watched Broadchurch.Broadchurch is great television. David Tennent and Oliva Coleman are fantastic. The second season is so so, the third is great.

KevinG
Anyone watch the first three Episodes of this season's Doctor Who. So far Whitaker has impressed me, she is good in the role. There is room for improvement, I feel as though her Doctor is looking for validation from everyone, which is something past Doctors didn't really do. Also I am glad they aren't making too big of deal (in the show anyways) about the gender change. I would imagine it would be a bigger deal if the regeneration spanned companions friends (not used to that at all). And Ryan Sinclair kinda sucks IMHO.
Analogman
I think it's more jarring that there are 3 companions to deal with. I have not seen the 3rd episode yet. I wish they had not changed the day the show is broadcast.
NoJ
Havent watched Dr Who since the mid 80s with Tom Baker as the Doctor. Hot damn tamale but those were good times.

Also I didn't think anyone watched shows when they were broadcast anymore.
Analogman
I am old. I do. I was trying to recall when there was 3 before.
KevinG
I am old. I do. I was trying to recall when there was 3 before. If memory serves, the 4th had three (Romana, K9, Adric; the aft fore mentioned Tegan, Nyssa, Adric) and the 5th had it quite a bit (the seasons w/ Tourlogh, Kamelion, Tegan). But again it has been a while since I have revisted those seasons. For being such a good Doctor the 5th had some pretty shitty companions.
Analogman
I'm still working my way through all the seasons. I can't recall where I left off. I think I am somewhere in Season 24.

I haven't revisited old Who in a long time. But there are some things I wish NuWho would do that Old Who did. Especially in regards to companions friends.Non Earth basedNon 21st CenturySomeone who is an adversary or working against the Doctor (secretly)Most of the nu-who companions have been 21st century earth humans. Only a handful has been from a different time and or planet (Jack Harkness, River Song, Nardol). I think it is high time we got some different type of companions. Analogman
Speaking of that - I should watch Torchwood again.
TCP
It's hard to tell after 3 episodes but I like Jodie a lot. My biggest concern with a new actor is that they feel like The Doctor. I can't describe what makes Tennant and Smith feel like The Doctor more than Eccleston, it's all intangibles. But so far Whittaker feels like The Doctor to me. I was a little nervous going into the Rosa Parks episode but they treated Rosa well. I think it was the best of the bunch so far. The Ghost Monument kind of sucked and it made me a little worried to see an episode that weak so early into the season, especially when there's only 10 episodes.
