rzback543
Any idea when the show, whether it's in Snowden or the GPAC, will go on sale? I'd prefer the GPAC because it's ten minutes from my apartment and the acoustics are wonderful. I was at the Ryan Adams show, too. Fantastic performance, but I would've liked an encore. Alas. the show in dallas has a presale (non-wilco presale) next week on the 20th. So I figure a batch of presales maybe wednesday or thursday of next week.
watchtower41
I perfer Autumnal Equinox, but hey to each his/her, anywho I saw Los Lobos @slugger field a couple of years back, and the crowd was half what I would anticipate Wilco's crowd to be, and it was cool. LEt me be the first to beg for a one time MMJ home town opening act?? Thats literally the first thing I thought of when I heard about this show yesterday.... what a twin bill that would be to bring back. Though I would think MMJ would headline in their own city no? H-Bomb Henry
I'm not real thrilled about Wilco playing Slugger field. I was hoping for the Iroquois Theater again. That place was unreal. I guess the VW commercials are paying dividends since they are booking a 13,000 seat stadium.
oceanman
I think it's pretty sweet Wilco is playing a ball field. You know damn straight they won't fill a 13,000 seat venue,so I expect a shit load of space.I love seeing bands in strange new places....................I call it a hit! BeatingHippies
Ballpark shows generally have very bad sound. This isn't true to every show out there, but many. It wouldn't stop me from going though.
dinner roll
For the love of gad, please add Baton Rouge to the schedule.

theashtraysays
I agree with the Iroquois. Nicest outdoor place I've ever been to.+1 Do these guys ever play the same place twice? I saw the Palace show a couple years ago and then the Iroquois show last year. Now the ballpark... must be Venue ADHD. So I guess that if they're "upgrading" to bigger places, I suppose my faint hope of a Lexington show at the Singletary center can be officially snuffed out at this point. Alas. Just have to keep making the Louisville / Cinci / Nashville road trips.
H-Bomb Henry
I agree with the Iroquois. Nicest outdoor place I've ever been to.Were you at the Wilco/Iroquois last year? There was something so cool about that place. I think it was a full moon that night and it was rising right next to the stage behind a group of trees. Perfect fall night. One plus on slugger field though...my friend is going to take his 3 yr old to his first concert and since he refers to everyone he sees that is walking as "Walking Like Wilco", I'd have to say that's a pretty cool first show? watchtower41
Completely agree with all the Iroquois praise, that venue is immaculate. Unbeliveable show, with that certain kind of sense and vibe that one was witnessing a special concert that night. I'll truly never forget that show, and can only hope that I'll get to visit the venue again to see one of my favorite bands. Though it seemed like all the banter from Jeff and the "kinda big deal" that was made about this show, this could very well be once in a lifetime opportunity types of things. A baseball field is a great challenge for Wilco, and it will be neat to witness the fellas belting out tunes to fill up a larger venue with their sound.
mountain bed
After going there last fall I came home raving about the Iroquois to my wife. I said even if there's a band we only marginally dig playing there next year we must go just to go back to the venue! I check periodically on their site & it seems like most all of what they put on there are musicals. Might just be a one-timer there for Wilco.

Just have to keep making the Louisville / Cinci / Nashville road trips. They played at the Singletary Center around spring '03, with the four piece lineup. There was an article in the paper that day about it being a homecoming show for Glen. It was a pretty good one, but paled in comparison to seeing them a few weeks later in Asheville at the Orange Peel.
aricandover
They played at the Singletary Center around spring '03, with the four piece lineup. Jorgenson joined in late 2002, so this would've been a 5 piece lineup
oceanman
Was there ever a span of time between Pat and Nels joining that Mikael might have played after Leroy left?I really don't think so,but what do I know.

LouisvilleGreg
Two things: First it seems to me that Mikael was on the stage, but sort of off to the side for some of the early shows I saw with him, which was somewhat puzzling. Dudn't he use to run some of the visuals as well? Secondly I just found these details regarding Louisville: 91.9 WFPK Presents: Wilcowith guests Dr. Dog Friday, Sept. 21,8pmGates 6:30pmLouisville Slugger FieldReserved Seating Tickets:$33/ $

delmarkurt
Does anyone know if there is a password for the pre-sale for the Madison show? I don't have one and thought I should check to find out before the pre-sale starts tomorrow.....
yermom
With this presale thing....does buying early get you better seats? I'm supposed to be in class at 10:00 but I'm flirting with the idea of showing up for that "learning stuff" late so that I can jump right in and buy my Little Rock tickets. Presale releases only a minute percentage of the tickets, however. That said, I'm going for LR tickets as well. Good luck everyone!
