mfwahl
1. Delta Spirit - Ode to Sunshine (Not a well known group by any means but I listen to this at least once a day. Every song on this album is great. I highly recommend it. They are even better live.)2. Wilco - Sky Blue Sky3. Dr. Dog - We All Belong4. Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger/Follow the Lights5. Ween - La Cucaracha I liked Spoon and the National's releases this year, some good songs, but some portions of them are not really my bag. I'm surprised I even listened to this many new albums. delmarkurt
I just posted this in another thread....but, I'm really surprised that there has not been a mention of Mescalito. My favorite album of 2007 is Ryan Bingham 'Mescalito'. Saw him open for DBT earlier this year. Link to Bingham's Myspace and here is a write up on Bingham from allmusic.com: Americana singer/songwriter Ryan Bingham was raised in rural Texas, where years of hardscrabble ranch work and competitions on the rodeo circuit would eventually surface in the dusty riffs of his country-styled debut, Mescalito. Living alone since his mid-teens, Bingham shuttled back and forth between Southwestern border towns and relatives' homes, often sleeping in his truck after nightly rodeo gigs. It was during those treks that he began entertaining friends with the guitar, an instrument he'd learned at the age of 17 from a mariachi neighbor. Drawing inspiration from Bob Dylan, Marshall Tucker, and Bob Wills
