stooka
According to The Omaha City Weekly. just a small mention at the bottom of another article, scroll down to the last. Anyone have more info?
Wendy
Nice find stooka! Can they please ask David Rawlings to join that band? It would be over-the-top of course, but why not? David Rawlings filled in with Bright Eyes for an absent Michael Mogis last month at the Kalamazoo MI show, because Mogis was busy with studio work. That was a great show, my first time seeing Bright Eyes. Conor Oberst called him "one of my very favorite people to play music with."

LouieB
M. Ward needs the work I guess... LouieB
jesselne
That would be sweet! I was at the Kalamazoo show too, and I agree that their seemed to be great chemistry between Oberst and Rawlings at that show.
stickman
I prefer him with Ryan Adams.
Dr. Steve Brule
Rawlings played with Bright Eyes here too, it was super awesome. Though I can't really imagine the need for both Rawlings and Ward.
Wendy
You mean my fantasy supergroup has to make sense? Damn!
Doug
I'm not a Bright Eyes fan, so I'd only buy this if it was heavy on M. Ward and light on Conor Oberst. I just hope this new band doesn't mean that M. Ward is gonna stop releasing solo albums.
TCP
Damn, two of my favorite song writers playing in a band together! I hope they get Mike Mogis on pedal steel.
explodo
I'd dig the record with Jake Bellows, too. Neva Dinova is pretty alright.
napoleon
i hope jim james joins too. i would have given anything to see matt/conor/jim when they toured together.
aricandover
i hope jim james joins too. i would have given anything to see matt/conor/jim when they toured together. it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. It's also what got me into M. Ward. I had never heard of him before that show, and at the end of the night, I bought all of his CDs the the merch table had.
stooka
I hope Neko Case isn't busy.
SkyBlueRy
I've got a recording of Conor Oberst, M Ward and Jim James doing 'Girl From The North Country,' it's actually pretty average. I think if they did start a band it'd be hard to keep it from being just the Conor Oberst show. Having said that, Desaparacidos were amazing...
oceanman
i hope jim james joins too. i would have given anything to see matt/conor/jim when they toured together. While your at it just let Dr. Dog serve as the backing band!
napoleon
While your at it just let Dr. Dog serve as the backing band! i want dr. dog to play in my backyard every night.
TheMaker
I guess I'm the only one who adores Matt, but hates Oberst? Damn. I can't help but feel this is a tremendous waste of Ward's talent and time...
mjpuczko
I guess I'm the only one who adores Matt, but hates Oberst? Damn. I can't help but feel this is a tremendous waste of Ward's talent and time... totally agree. i can't stand oberst.

oceanman
I still think Brakeman is one of the best songs written this year........hate is a strong word. I took me me a long while to lighten up to him and now I finally see his true intent.
solace
Conor is playing 2 shows here at a small club in Minneapolis on Dec 29 & 30th... they are billed under his name and not Bright Eyes, and apparently he will not be playing ANY Bright Eyes material and will be debuting a new backing band... so... if this means M. Ward will be at those 2 shows already have a ticket to the 30th show, but if Matt is invovled, i'll hit up both for sure. and while i enjoy Bright Eyes (mostly post Lifted, although the last record was so so), Matt is so so much more amazing. giraffo
I guess I'm the only one who adores Matt, but hates Oberst? Damn. I can't help but feel this is a tremendous waste of Ward's talent and time... thank you...I don't get what people like about this guy. I hate to use the word "fake" to describe a musician, but that's the best way I can describe Oberst and his approach to his writing...if anyone tries too hard to be a serious poet bound on changing the world with his endless insight and suffering, it's Conor Oberst. His music is either too full of poor personal writing or trying to fit into some sort of country aesthetic.
Kicking_Television
I love both M. Ward and Conor Oberst but forgive me for thinking that the pairing wouldn't be the greatest.
