shawnsolo73
Saturday night at the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw was great! I had never seen them before and they played a few UT songs!
Analogman
I have a few. A few are still seeding on Dime and bt.etree. I can't say I listen to them often - if at all. I was with a friend who taped a Chicago show that they played - Randolph Street Fest - I don't think he ever seeded it, though. It seems like there are a lot of dead ones on bt.etree. I noticed there are some recent shows on bt.etree.org now. I bet all his social media activity has something to do with that. Whoever is running his Facebook page has been putting up videos that look to me as if they were filmed at the side of the stage.
calvino
Thanks - didn't even notice them when I took a peak at the site, yesterday.
CortezTheKiller
I bet all his social media activity has something to do with that. He's been flooding my Twitter feed lately. Good to see Jay (or his "team") reengage with his fan base in a 21st Century way.
calvino
Wonder if he hired a new manager - looks like he is with Thirty Tigers. Not sure if has been with them for a while, though or not.
Analogman
I have a hard time seeing Jay do Twitter. Of course, I don't look at such things. Facebook is bad enough.
CortezTheKiller
Other than message boards, I had avoided any kind of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). My job necessitated that I jump into the Twitter game. I wasn't too enthusiastic about it, but several months in, it's not so bad. In fact, there are several aspects of it I actually like. Analogman
It seems like it gets a lot of people in trouble. If it helps Jay sell some records - then that is a good thing.
EMF
picked up the new cd yesterday and really like it. psyched to see them in Tarrytown in a couple weeks

I just Googled "Son Volt set lists" to see whether or not What Goes was the Velvet Underground tune. And it was! Can't imagine Jay covering that. Must have been cool.Nice way to close out a show: three UT tunes, a Chuck Berry cover, and a VU classic.
calvino
Yep - looks a great set.
bcdoc
Confirmed. The show at Thalia Hall in Chicago was the Son Volt concert that I have been waiting to see and hear for years. Well worth it if he is in your area.
Knight Rider
Yes. Totally electrified. Ears still ringing. All about the music. Great set list.
calvino
Yeah - and I missed it. Decided to take the kids on the quick spring break trip - booked it - and then remembered I had Son Volt tickets. Oh well ---- like my brother (who i was going to go with - a dad of three) said when I called him up to tell he him that I booked a trip with the family ---- 'why the hell did we have kids'. It was a great trip, though. Hopefully a boot pops up.

Analogman
Old Jay is certainly going all out this time around. I think he is going to be on one of those Sunday morning TV shows.
blureu
CBS Saturday Morning this weekend. Old Jay is certainly going all out this time around. I think he is going to be on one of those Sunday morning TV shows.
Analogman
Er Saturday - I never turn on the TV that early. I will have to catch it online. Too bad there are no more cartoons. He could be a guest star on Speed Buggy.
Magnetized
CBS Saturday Morning this weekend. They don't always include interview segments on those CBS Saturday Morning music profiles. Something tells me that if there is one, it'll be brief.
calvino
Jeez, forgot all about Speed Buggy --- a Jay v. Jeff Wacky Race episode would be fun, too
