m_thomp
really?have you seen them live? Yep, in Sep 05. They're definitely influenced by dance, but I wouldn't consider them any more of a dance band as say LCD Soundsystem or New Order. Whereas your Daft Punks, Basement Jaxxs or if we're being even more esoteric artists such as Gui Boratto I would consider.

Mystik Spiral
KBCO's A to Z. Once a year they play (supposedly) every song in their library in alpha order. I like KBCO alright, but this is really the only time of year I can listen to commercial radio for more than a couple hours at a time... The last ten: ONE OF THESE DAYS - Pink FloydOne More Saturday Night - Grateful DeadOne Man's Ceiling Is Another Man's Floor - Paul SimonONE MAN WRECKING MACHINE - GUSTERONE LOVE - BOB MARLEYTHE ONE I LOVE - R.E.M.THE ONE I LOVE - DAVID GRAY100 Years - Five For FightingOne Headlight - WallflowersOne Big Love - Patty Griffin

Chendizzle
Good stuff - although they could have cut one (or both) of last two tracks.

Synthesizer Patel
El Guincho - Alegranza it's great It is, isn't it? I only heard about him the other day, and after checking out his myspace page, then snagging his album on the interweb, I preordered a copy all within about 1 hour of finding out about it. It's what I can imagine the next animal collective album to sound like, from their live stuff at the moment.

I had a quick look on Amazon and it couldn't find any results, which means I'm really thick, or it's (Amazon) very behind the times. It came out last year, apparently. The similarities between Animal Collective and Panda Bear, specifically with the vocal melodies and phrasing, is so uncanny it verges on the unnerving and eerie. It's difficult to know where Animal Collective stop and El Guincho begins. In fact given that Mr Lennox is currently based in Lisbon, it's difficult to know who influenced who. It sounds like Strawberry Jam but played with Feels-era instrumentation and mindset. Oh yeah, and it's fantastic.

Oh yeah, and it's fantastic. you can order it from rough trade (the only place I know of where you can get it), it's out on 28th this month. it was released last year, like you say, but i'd imagine it was only in spain and with a very small run - probably self-released, even. Kalise is Brother Sport, don't you think?
m_thomp
Kalise is Brother Sport, don't you think? Totally, right down to the synth stabs. There's a couple of others that remind me of Winter Wonderland and Who Could Win A Rabbit. Thanks for tip-off, I'll put an order in too.
solace
Bendable Poseable ranks up their at the top of their stuff imo and for me that is one of the most annoying songs not only on the record, but also that i've heard this year

Not holding out too much hope though, they've signed with a major label now!
