Dreamin'
As voters do we vote with our conscience or as strategists?I think you can do both at the same time. Canada is a much more progressive place with the NDP and the Green Party than it could ever be without them on the ballot. For example, we have universal health care because the Liberals "borrowed" the idea from the CCF (NDP). That's why it's so ironic that Michael Moore eventually abandoned Nader. He obviously doesn't get it. Also, whenever one of our major political parties screws up, Canadians pulverize them because we have a few more choices. In the US, the left really has nowhere to go, so nobody has to listen to them. If people begin to think outside the two party box, everyone will have to work harder for your vote. Gobias Industries
Hillary?!? That doesn't make sense. I don't really like what Hillary brings to the table, personally. edit: and i think more parties would make this a lot easier to work out because frankly i'm not a fan of any of the candidates on both sides...honestly i might submit a blank ballot because this sucks. Atticus
how does that website align anyone with Hillary? I've never heard her make a strong stance on really any issue. I normally hear her say (in response to any question along the lines of "So Senator Clinton, you would support/deny ___________") "now _______, I didn't say that, what I said is, I would have to consider all the factors blah, blah fuckity" and whatnot. tugmoose
FOXNEWS appears to be terrified by the prospect of Hillary not getting the nomination. Dick Morris and O'Reilly were both going on and on about how unimportant the Iowa results are.

Dreamin'
Ralph Nader is a union buster.Yikes! Is this true? That's always a deal breaker for me. Edit: Never mind, I Googled it. Damn. Even so, Nader's flaws and contradictions don't make him a villain.

If Obama wins the Preidency, will he allow tapers at the Wilco White House show ? . . . and more importantly, will there be pre-sale tix . . .For a second there, I though Fuzzy Zoeller was in the room. tugmoose
Huckabee just now on FOX: "there's been a lot of questions about me from the people on the east coast and from people on the west coast. but out here in America people get what I'm talking about." Ouch.

mountain bed
so.....deepsea......who'd you caucus for??? Yes. We need a report from our man in Iowa. Some trenchant, first person stuff would be appreciated. Ok, here's what I got from tonight...Iowa is as polarized as any other place in the U.S. The only thing that both sides agree on is they want something different. Huckabee? Are there really that many evangelicals in Iowa? Remind me not to consider moving there. A black man with the name Barack Hussein Obama stomps on the terra in a state that is 95% white? I'm totally ok with Obama winning tonight. I must say that I was a little disappointed with the showing from the second tier guys though. Richardson 2%. Sen. Joe 1%. Dodd less than 1%. C'mon, what's wrong with any of these guys? They'd beat any of the Republican candidates like a gong in a 2-person debate, and the general as well imo.

ikol
He's been hitting the populist rhetoric like his name was Huey Long. Resonates these days. I guess I just don't see why anyone believes that rhetoric coming from his mouth. Why is Edwards a sleaze? Because he's good looking and successful? He's a sleaze because he's so transparently hypocritical. He gives these pompous speeches about the plight of the middle class and poor in between his $1200 haircuts. He talks about there being two Americas, and he's going to do everything in his power to keep taxes high for anyone trying to climb their way up to his America. Not to mention his previous career of getting rich from bogus lawsuits against OBGYNs.
