Although, that would be sort of cool - you could run around, and I could practice throwing chinese throwing stars at you.

bigshoulders
Aye chihuahua.I went out and got some good cold-weather gear yesterday, knowing full-well I would be regretting it later if I relied on my Sprawl-Mart gloves to keep me warm.
raquelita
It's 65 here (atlanta) today, and I can't wait to get to Chicago - but I wish I could bring this weather with me!! I mean, what can you do, other than wear everything you own, to stay warm?!?! I'm scared....
PigSooie
Yeah. It's nice standing in line today. Much better than yesterday. I'm already starting to smell.

Will a Cali girl have to freeze to see? Can hardly wait to see you guys Jayne, I'm not sure there is a "sweet spot" for sound in the Riv. Try hanging close to the soundboard, prolly as good as it gets. While the overall sound at the Riv is passable, just be glad the shows arent at the Aragon. Have fun! Stewsday
I like the Riv! It has interesting acoustics (no AC, not that we'll worry about that during the show). As already mentioned, the best sound is usually by the sound engineer's ear.Where ever he/she is listening from to mix the room, is going to sound better than elsewhere. It's bassy in the back of the main floor by the bars, most likely due to the balcony overhang.I'd stay away from there and the garbage & bar areas, because the sound of bottles breaking in the trash really can disrupt your enjoyment of the show. The balcony is hit or miss, they do fly left and right stacks for the balconies, so more times than not, you get a decent mix, but then you run into the sight lines issue. It's not always the best for viewing depending on how far forward they set up on stage.I do like the fact there are levels on the main floor area, which means there are staggered positions of decent sight lines.~G. yankee
Alright, so what should I expect out of you'll? Two hours pre-showtime? First thing in the morning, camping out front all week to save on hotels? I know a few nuts on here who will probably be there way, way early. Will you gauge it day by day based on the weather? Looking forward to seeing and meeting many of you'll. I know no one in Chicago, so a few buddies would be nice. Talk to everyone soon, GregI'm gonna show up shortly after doors open. I don't like standing in line.
Degenerex
It's gonna be cold. I suggest no one stand in line. I'll go in first at like 7:01, and I'll call all of you to let you know it's safe.
