remphish1
A question for those who went to every night of the residency...the fact that you now heard ever proper Wilco album song in concert does that take away the desire to see them again live? I am a completist and love to hear all the songs off an album. If I accopmplished that I probably wouldn't see Wilco live again...or at least until a new album came out. Thoughts? and for those of you who would see them again lets say they did another 5 nights of just regular shows in Chicago in the next year with no new material to be played. How many would you go to??

How many would you go to?? I would still go to a couple of them, but I see your point. I posted in the ATS thread that I kind of feel (this morning that is) that I really don't need to see them anymore after last night, and I only went to 2 shows! I venture to say some of the 5-nighters would be right back in line for another residency, whenever it might happen.

Degenerex
I went to all 5 shows: If they did it again next year, I'd go back without a doubt. If they played the Riv this Saturday, I think I'd sit it out. If they played in a month or so, I'd be within 25 feet of Glenn's xylophone.
MattZ
I think need is a relative term here (I didnt go to any of the residency shows). What I mean is, I guess I wouldn't need to see them until a new album was released. But it's not like I need to see them now either. And I am roadtripping to PA and CT this weekend because, well, I need to see them.
Madcap
some friends and I were considering going to the SC show next week and if they came back to Chicago in a month for another 2 nights, i'd go to both. I think it'd be tough to go back to see a 'regular' show now that all these old tunes have been busted out, but if Wilco is in my town, I can't NOT go. I'll be at the residency next year if they do one, no doubt.
ChooChooCharlie
I don't need to see them again, until a new album comes out. Agreed. I would, but don't need to. Boy did I spend a lot of money this past week -- tickets were only the beginning. I'm now sick and exhausted. Would I change anything? Definitely not -- one of the best weeks of my life. cars_cant_escape
I went to all 5 nights, and i'd go see them again tomorrow! That's no exaggeration, i just love seeing one of the best bands in the world play live, even if i have to hear shot in the arm and impossible germany 5 nights in a row! ChooChooCharlie
...even if i have to hear shot in the arm and impossible germany 5 nights in a row!Yeah, this last week really made me appreciate what it must be like to be in a band. Gearing up for a few of the same songs every night, the physical toll a rock show puts on your body (plus the freezing hours waiting in line every day), and changing your life around to accommodate the shows. That being said, I'd be back there for another residency in a heartbeat. I'd just be up in the balcony every night.

LouisvilleGreg
The band was on total fire all week and ultimately this run is going to benefit fans everywhere, as the whole catalog should theoretically be up for grabs on any given night. I would do another residency no doubt, I just hope its above single digits next time. Also their are plenty of folks who were at all five shows who will also be in Philly, Cleveland, DC, etc.
bigshoulders
The fact that I'm completely saturated with Wilco is not keeping me from a seven hour drive to Philly (by way of DC) this Saturday. After Saturday, though... I think I'll be sated for the rest of the year. I say that now... by summertime I'll wish the boys were touring some more. Kevin

mastershake
however they did play when the roses bloom again... i have that song and for some reason i've never listened to it. i shall pay more attention to it from now on
brandonwilco
The last week has been such a exhausting endeavor. Physically, Emotionally, and let's be honest - financially. But I wouldn't trade it in for the world. Running down there every night this week after work was pure madness. I have barely been home all week! Such a surreal experience to basically spend all your free time with your favorite band after work, playing all your favorite songs. As much as I may need to get back to society, I would totally have no problem going again any night this week if they announced it. It was as if we were in another universe this past week. It didn't even feel like I was going to shows after Monday; it was something bigger. It was an event that will be talked about for years.
Dr. Steve Brule
I'm hoping to go see them at the last show of the upcoming tour. If they played Chicago again soon at the Riv or the Vic, I'd be there for sure. Auditorium or Lollapalooza type venue? Nope. I'm hoping they realize how awesome it is to play GA in Chicago and never ever ever play the Auditorium again. NEVER EVER.

At Jeff's Vic show in January he dedicated it to my wife (he was dedicating songs to everyone who requested one with Sue before the show). I think its even better with Jeff solo, but Roses and Mountain Bed are two of the most beautiful songs I've heard of any artist.
j4lackey
I'd say it's their turn to come see me!
shoesgetcold3
I would attend another residency in a heartbeat. Realistically this will not happen for sometime, but a millenium park run this summer should not be out of the question. And I will try my hardest to be there too. All the physical and emotional energy I put into attending the shows was repaid with the bands hard work and the fans great attitude. It was net positive in any event. I think Wilco is one of the best bands of all time and the fact that I am living in Chicago during their heyday is amazing luck. So anytime they play driving distance from Chicago, count me in. I should also say that I live 3 miles from the Riv, ate an early dinner at home, found street parking, got in line close to the time doors opened, and sat in the first 3 rows of non reserved balcony seats all 5 nights. I could totally understand how people who stood in line and stood during the shows would be toast after this. Attending 5 shows in 6 nights is a chore. Especially the weekday nights where you still have a life to attend to. There is a tipping point for many people where the chore of going weighs more then the gain. Living a rock stars life is not easy!
allgodsmoney
I standing in line at the Riv right now. HA! look out for that homeless guy we were buying meals for all week...never did catch his name
allgodsmoney
I was there all 5 nights. Its obvious that the shows were cock. Friday was the best rock and roll show I have ever seen, and they just got better after that. The realy cool thing about the residency for me was the totaly unexpected pleasure of standing in line for many, many cold hours with the salt of the earth! These people were great! It was harder to say goodbye to them than it was to see WILCO leave the stage for the last time on Wednesday night. I hope they do it again. I hope they do it in Febuary again. A summer residency might bring out the weenies. The cold drives 'em away. ...back to life, back to reality.
cars_cant_escape
is anyone pissed they didn't play one true vine? Not pissed, but kinda sorta wanted it pretty bad I'm actually considering making it my first dance at my wedding, great lyrics and nice and short
