I was all set to hear him too...No matter, the boys go on in T-52 minutes. Discuss. I'm enjoying the Doe stream right now. So no, I don't feel gypped. Check NPR again. blue_94_trooper
I am annoyed that I can't figure out how to stream w/o using NPR's player. I used to be able to listen to their streams on my stereo via my Soundbridge, now I appear to be stuck to my PC.

mountain bed
I think "It's Just that Simple" instead of "Not the Issue". Otherwise that looks on the money.

bobbob1313
I am loving "It's Just That Simple". I always thought it was some goofy throwaway, but knowing how happy it makes John to play it, I can't help but smile when I hear it now.
colinh9
Hello all, I've been a lurker for a while, but decided to finally register and post! Got back from the show a few hours ago, and it was wonderful. Ended up getting the setlist for John Doe, which is worth it just to see Gimme Shelter on it(Nels came out and ripped). Box Full of Letters, Mountain Bed, Treasure and She's a Jar were the highlights for me. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of looking at the setlist, and on it was my dream encore. I was quite pumped for it, but it ended up being changed dramatically. The encore was: ELTCasino QueenHoodoo VoodooLonely 1 Sadly, Hoodoo and ELT were the top two tracks I wanted to hear coming into tonight. Via Chicago and California Stars were played by request, and I think they decided to let the Total Pros play a few more songs, thus the Monday closer(I'm sure they only rehearsed a set amount of songs). I was let down at the end of the show, especially considering I'm not positive I will ever see Voodoo, but I really can't complain. Seeing Wilco never disappoints me, and to be against the rail at a venue like the 930 club for them was fantastic. I think N1 was slightly better but tonight won't be forgotten any time soon. froggie
nice to see the old stuff coming back, after the residency those chicago shows seemed to have worked wonders!
shaggenstein
Great show tonight, was worried it would be a copy of Darby, the only other show I've seen in the last two years, but gladly they made it another special night.
evrgrnjaye
wednesday's whimsical treats: john, someday soon, roses, box full of letters, pieholden (this song is gold & yay, total pros!), i'm always in love and... on and on and on. we were just so lucky to hear this live; i felt like time made sure to hold its full beauty. jeff mentioned that they had sifted through past years' dc set lists and worked to include tunes they hadn't played as often. the effort was totally appreciated and it's as if everyone found their song. everyone looked fresh and the banter about the grammy presented on night one, a stuffed, singing toy from an audience member ("time to turn off your computer. go read a book."), jeff's hat vs. the chiquita banana's, and play-by-play of nels' double-necked guitar for listeners at home was perfect. they're winning many new hearts each evening. on the way home, everyone was so glad to have experienced and shared such tight magic. for first-time attendees, this was especially and understandably soulquaking. it's awesome to see the wilco waves of love joyously splashing everywhere. kindred spirits in mermaid avenue treasures, unite! i hear the total pros will be with them saturday for snl. it shall be fabulous! both hate it here and walken were most righteous and punchy live with their bombasticity. i think pieholden is so enchanting that it'd be such a delight of a second song. i hope they will crash at least one skit! celebrate it many times over with npr! colinh9 ~ ooh, that is a terrific encore set, but casino queen>i'm a wheel>monday was very fitting for the feeling of tonight's show. one concert when you least expect it, they'll whip out elt and close w/hoodoo and you'll be in total rapturous bliss. like halloween in june. the lonely 1, even crazier. yadasacker
I'm going to get flamed, but that was a snoozer of a show for anyone that was at Tuesday night, which ABSOLUTEY ripped by the way. I mean come on guys, you've just dusted off your ENTIRE catalog and you play nearly 2/3rds repeats from the night before. Pretty lame if you ask me.
Hodie
I'm dead asleep and people have already made most of the comments I would've, but anyway... There was little to no filiming last night, and no cameras pointed at the audience this time, which makes me much relieved. I now have a 50% less chance of looking dorky for posterity. The sound was definitely better the second night, which for me was most obvious during John Doe's set. I think I mentioned yesterday almost jumping out of my skin with the New World > Revolution song. That was nothing compared to my reaction to Gimme Shelter with Nels slamming along. Cindy Wasserman's belting of the outro was inspired. Big fat highlights for me: I think Pieholden Suite was even better the second night, those Total Pros sure do make a Wilco show brighter. and Nothingsever was a joy. Bbop has a picture of Nels with the shiny brand new (I mean really new, there was not so much as a fingerprint on it) double-necked guitar, and he'll post it shortly. Besides bringing a little Van Halenesque je ne sais quoi, it really sounded beautiful. It was kinda breathtaking actually but then I feel that way about Nels' playing pretty often. The "singing toy" was not from the audience, it's a synthesizer thingie of Nels' called a Thingamagoop, And speaking of the audience, putting aside drunk girls talking loudly through beautiful songs, as is usual for Wilco shows, we got to meet some really great folks (hello grammy girls, hello colin, hope I see you again one o' these days).
