Sparky speaks
It appears that May 13 has turned out to be Christmas in Wilco land........Season's Greetings
Elixir Sue
Who do I have to sleep with to get the Wilco HQ emails within a day of everyone else? Same here.

Rusty Shackleford
I donated! Â Me too, and I donated on behalf of Wilco. I hope other downloaders do the same, so the band will continue to have a positive attitude about these leaks.
cryptique
^ I did the same thing. I figured it was better than "in memory of" Wilco. Also, I want that organization to know why they're getting this awesome spike in donations.
watch me fall
Yeah, our restraint was pretty much nonexistent.
cryptique
One area where we have had restraint: I have yet to see anyone refer to the new record as Wilco (Teh Album).  edit: D'oh!
Guest Jules
Well, we made it nearly a month with copies of Wilco (the album) floating around out there before it leaked. Pretty impressive restraint in this day and age. But the inevitable happened last night. Since we know you're curious and probably have better things to do than scour the internet for a download (though we do understand the attraction of the illicit), we've posted a stream of the full album at http://wilcoworld.net/records/thealbum/ . Feel free to refer to it as "wilco (the stream)" if you must. We also have our usual guilt abatement plan for downloaders. If you have downloaded the record, we suggest you make a donation to one of the band's favorite charities, the Inspiration Corporation -- an organization we've supported in the past & who are doing great work in the city of Chicago. Information and donation button here: http://inspirationcorp.org/. That's all. Enjoy the stream. Tickets for summer shows, etc. http://wilcoworld.net/tours/ Note that we'll be holding a free online midnight screening of the "Ashes of American Flags" film this Friday night (at both midnight US Central time and again at midnight Pacific). So get the popcorn or whatever together and be sure to log on and tune in on Friday. Wilco HQ I hope everyone has donated.
MattZ
I hope everyone has donated. teacher's pet (I donated)
isadorah
i donated, but didn't think to put it in honor of wilco. i also donated to the woody guthrie foundation (more than the $2) and did note the wilco connection on that one. i will also, of course, be purchasing the vinyl from an independent record store on June 30. Analogman
Greetings friends. A quick pre-holiday note. At this very moment the band and crew are in the air, headed for Spain and the kickoff of their tour in Tenerife on Saturday night. We'll be updating you from over there as the tour heads into its second week. So stay tuned. In the meantime, if you have an iPhone or an iPod touch, be sure to check out the new Wilco app, which just went online today. It's free and pretty damn cool, if we do say so ourselves. Get it here. We're getting close to more sellouts on the summer tour dates, so have a look and make your plans now. Tickets here.. That's it. We'll check back in a week or so from the Iberian Peninsula. Have a great holiday weekend. Around here,we'll be firing up the grill come Friday afternoon and may just keep it going all weekend. here's to you and the tour. the HQ staff. p.s yes, the album stream is down but it shall return, sporadically and maybe even frequently. Keep your eyes peeled. We'll let you know on the front page of the site when it's going back up.
jff
Â The "this lineup is about to change" symbolism on that train is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
cryptique
Just got this. For those who might have missed it earlier, Wilco suggested that those who downloaded the album make donations to this organization. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dear Friends of Wilco, On behalf of Inspiration Corporation THANK YOU for your gift in honor of Wilco (the album). As you may know, Inspiration Corporation is a nonprofit organization in Chicago. We help people affected by homeless and poverty to increase their self-sufficiency on their own terms, by providing them with meals, supportive services, employment services, and housing. Our headquarters is about two miles from Wilco
Analogman
Greetings from HQ Command Center. The crew is humming away as we're now only one day from the start of the new US tour -- it opens in Cincinnati at the sold-out Aronoff Center tomorrow (Friday) night. And we're less than 3 weeks away from the release of Wilco (the album), which as they say in the record business "drops June 30". You can preview it via the stream at Wilcoworld this weekend (Saturday night, midnight eastern until Sunday night, midnight eastern). It is also available NOW for preorder HERE. And for the digitally inclined, via iTunes HERE. Ordering now makes you eligible for some very cool weekly drawings and you'll also receive an instant gratification download of "You Never Know" and both the physical piece(s) of plastic and a digital download of the entire thing on release day. Got it? Operators are standing by, so call now. You and the band will be glad you did. Tickets for the summer tour are on sale now. CLICK HERE. We've already got 11 sellouts on the board and are expecting a bunch more very shortly. Act soon, (esp. if you're in the Bay Area) because buying now is the only way to guarantee fair pricing and good old rock 'n roll fun. If you're on the east coast... the ballpark shows in Wilmington, Lowell, Brooklyn and Dutchess County (NY) are now your only shots to see the band this summer. Click here for details. That's it. We try very hard to go easy on the emails... we know what a drag it is to be bombarded. But we'll probably hit you with a couple of more gentle reminders before the release date. We need your support here. see you out there very soon. peace. The HQ Staff, pushy sales dept. (and Alfred, below)

Analogman
I'm not a fan of big photos posted on message boards, so I didn't mess with it. Also, I don't have iTunes, so I don't think the iTunes link above takes you to the Wilco pre-order. If someone could fix that link, that would be cool.
Analogman
Greetings friends, A quick one this time. Wilco appear on NBC's The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien this evening. Check your local listings for details. Note that we are also now less than a week away from the release of "Wilco (the album)". You can preorder it here http://bit.ly/BlR27 (and you really should). Oh, and the iPhone app v. 1.1 is available, too, you can download it here: http://bit.ly/nc9qN Re: upcoming shows: there are more sellouts on the board but tickets remain in Jacksonville (Oregon), Lake Tahoe, and at Red Rocks in the west and for the east coast ballpark shows in Wilmington, Lowell, Brooklyn (where we've released some previously unavailable tickets) and Dutchess County (NY) as well as the Art Park in Buffalo. Okkervil River support in the west and the east features Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band. Great double bills mean more bang for your buck. Go to http://wilcoworld.net/shows/ for info. Hard to believe it, but that's it for the summer. Only eight more chances to see Wilco in the lovely American outdoors. We're webcasting this Saturday night's show live from the sold-out Greek Theatre in Berkeley. It'll be available in Quicktime on http://wilcoworld.net and via the iPhone app. Tune in around 10 pm cdt sat. night.  peace & more soon.Wilco HQ
Analogman
Greetings friends. It's been a long haul. We've laughed, we've cried, we've stared blankly out windows... but we're happy to say that Wilco (the album) is out now & available here and at retailers pretty much everywhere. We know from the early numbers that many of you have already pulled the trigger and purchased the cd, the vinyl and/or the download and for that we thank you wholeheartedly. For those of you who haven't gone there yet, we ask you to consider doing so today. We don't normally push this hard for you to actually "close the deal" -- there are many things we're happy to give away or suggest you donate to charity in exchange, whatever. But every few years, we need you to step up and do us a solid. This is one of those times. Wilco (the album) is, in our not-so-humble opinion, a must have. And with your help, the band could potentially have it's best ev! er first week. Note the gorgeously-packaged super hi-fi 180-gram vinyl version contains a free copy of the cd inside. Our friend Alfred (the camel) looks great in that large format. Also available of course via iTunes and etc. a few other things: Hear Jeff Tweedy in a great new interview by WBEZ Chicago Public Radio -- lots of interesting discussion of (the album), the band, etc. Strongly recommended. Link here. The Sundance Channel will show the Wilco film ""Ashes of American Flags" 2x this weekend (Friday at midnight EDT/PDT and a holiday matinee @ 6pm EDT/PDT).. Check your local listings. The band are at Red Rocks in Morrison CO tomorrow (Friday) night and then have a short holiday break before resuming on the US east coast on July 8. Tickets still available for some shows including Wilmington, Lowell, Brooklyn and Dutchess County (NY). Buffalo Art Park, too. Click here. that's all for now. Thanks a million for supporting the band. Have a great and rocking 4th of July. remember, light fuse and get away. Quick. the Wilco HQ staff
Analogman
Greetings everyone, And many, many thanks from all of us to each of you. The returns are in and Wilco (the album) sold 99,000 "units" as they say in the record business -- which blows away our previous best week by a longshot. Cheers to you guys for making that happen. After a short holiday break, the band are now back on the road. They rocked a sold out Wolf Trap in Virginia last night and will be at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, DE tomorrow (Friday 7/10). Rumor has it that the Blue Rocks mascot "Mr. Celery" is a Wilco fan. So say hi if you see him. Tickets remain for this Saturday 7/11 at the home of the Spinners in Lowell, MA; Monday 7/13 in Brooklyn at the Cyclones' Keyspan Park (but only a few hundred left out of 12k); Saturday 7/18 at the Hudson Valley Renegades' Dutchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls NY ( 70 miles north of NYC, 10 south of Poughkeepsie) and 7/19 at the decidedly non-baseball related Art Park in Lewiston (Buffalo) NY. Portland, ME 7/17 and Royal Oak, MI 7/21 are sold out.  The band will wrap up their US summer tour with a gig at the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival in Minnesota on 7/23. Click here for information about rides to Wilco shows via Zimride... who are now partners with us on our Passenger Side Ride share application. One more thing: all 4 of the ballpark shows have been designated TOUR PROGRAM NIGHT... meaning the first 1000 people through the gates at each receive a free Wilco Summer Tour Program. See you out there. Sun's out. Gonna step out in the yard and fire up the grill. The HQ staff P.S. Wilco with special guest Feist on Late Night with David Letterman Tuesday 7/14. Be sure to tune in.
